  1. Serioulsy - a pallet of wax - I don't think I'll ever need that much at one time. I just started last month and haven't sold a thing yet - I'm giving plenty away to testers who are actually providing feedback. I don't know if I'll ever sell any - I think it'll be a great winter hobby that I can use as gifts for family and friends. And I enjoy making the candles and tarts.

BTW - this board is awesome for newbies like me. Thanks for sharing.

Then you would a least want to order by the case. It will last a long time and you will know what you have. It takes up very little room. I order by the case as I only make/sell/give in the fall and winter. For tarts.....a ten lb bag should do.

  2. okay, I bought those scales ya recommended (kd-7000?) on amazon. The basic weighing I figured out, but it came with no instruction booklet! I know this is silly to you all, but I have no idea what the "tare" button does!....? CAn someone explain?
The tare button zeroes out the scale so you can start weighing whatever you're gonna weigh. For instance, put a melting pot on the scale, press the tare button to set it to zero, then add the desired weight of wax. You could use it to add more than one ingredient if you want, and press tare between each one to set the reading back to zero.

Just to add.....the tare button makes it so you are only weighing your wax, not your pot. KWIM? Enjoy!

  3. I also add CS cinnamon to my pumpkin souffle. It is so strong that one night I got up in the middle of the night and I thought oh no I forgot to blow out my candle. Well I had, it was just lingering all over the house. And I have a 2 story house and always burn my candles in the kitchen!

  4. Candlescience has a really nice Vanilla Hazelnut that works really well in 6006. I add a little bit of plain coffee fo to make it a latte.

And their plain coffee is awsome and very strong! I mixed some yesterday with pumpkin souffle and man is it awesome! I did 50/50 and I mostly smell coffee with a little cinnamon. The coffee is from CS as well.

  5. I have some bath and body works home fragrance oil, the ones that come in the .33 oz. Are these okay to use in making soy candles? Please do not tell me to "search" as I have already tried that. If you do not have something nice to say in your answer please do not respond. Sorry for the attitude, but there are a lot of rude people on here!

If you do a search you will find the answer to this is no. There has been previous discussion on this. This would be way to expensive and I am sure those oils are cut with DPG for the candle burners.

  6. Ok I am at a loss. I used to use 70/30 wax and after it becoming scarce I switched to 6006. I like this wax alot. Burns with no residue left on the jar ext. I have tested many wicks and finally found one that does not soot like crazy. I am using a 4in cube jar from candlescience. I am using FO's that I know throw like crazy...wildberry mouse from cs for one. I am using 2 htp 31's. No soot, clean burn...my problem? No scent throw. Well a little but not what I want. Help!!!! What can I do now. I have used LX's, CD's and I did get a throw with those either. Just black soot. Oh and I am using 1.5 oz of oil with 17 oz of wax and 1 teas of Coconut oil.

  7. Testing has gone well so far. Burn and throw meet expectations. Glass adhesion has been better than expected - kinda hate to mention that, because it could be just in the right pouring conditions at the moment. Additional testing will bear that out. Hope to have product to see within a month. Will update more as details emerge.
