I was wondering if anyone has bought ng mrs claus cookie lately. i opened a new bottle of fo and went to work. When i added the fo to my wax there was this awful smell i cant even explain i said to my husband how would you explain that smell he said i dont even know. Maybe like a chemical smell???? I have had some returns on this scent. I am using the same batch of wax the same way as the previous bottle. With the previous bottle it was wonderful. I emailed ng today to see what i could find out this is the only scent doing this and i poured a few different scents. Any one know what would be going on. Or do you think it was just this batch.

Thanks, i guess it is a stupid ? I thought maybe there would be someone that does both or has done both and could help. i do here how it is hard to get a smooth top on here. I am not really worried about the clean burning part. i am more concerned with the scent throw. I have been trying different suppliers for my fo's. I justed wondered if i should attempt the soy.

Ok you soy users i need some help from you. I use j50 right now i have tried joy wax, before i go buying and testing 100% soy i wanted to know the good things about soy. I know they say it burns cleaner. I was wondering about scent throw is it about the same as regular parrafin or different? I know it would depend on which soy i used but i would just like an idea of what you think. just compared to what you use. Yes i did do a search on here and found nothing on this. I am just unsure if i want to get into using soy but the customers keep mentioning it. thanks,

Welcome, what they told me was test test and test some more but your probably looking for somewhere to start. I started with Joy wax from NG (there is a page on here with abbr.) then i moved to j50 i use bcn for a lot of my scents jars lids etc. NG also has a lot of nice scents. I use zinc wicks. not sure what else to let you know. But welcome and happy testing.

i also use j50 i thought when i read instructions for that wax it was 160 then pour. I heat to 180. I will try to add it a little hotter. Makes scents. Thank you

yes they were vanilla and snicker doodle. can i do something to fix it i am using 1.5 oz. and they are not a strong scent so i need that much.

I use igi 4794 it works well for me. I put like a table spoon of crisco to help with scent throw.

I have had a few candles it seems like the scent lays on the bottom you can see like an oil. Is it to much fo or i am not stirring enough?

I have seen where they sell bottles of scent to spray on rose hips and things. i was wondering if what they were using was the same fo we put in candles.

I have ordered Mrs claus cookies from ng i love it and so does everyone else. Ng has that when its not chrismas people call it vanilla spice. But i need to order my wax from bcn and just to order 1 scent from ng you know how the shipping thing goes it will cost as much as i pay for the scent. bcn has a vanilla spice i was wondering if anyone has ever tried them both and how they compare.

I use joy wax i following ng's instructions with heating it to 200 cool to 175 add color and fo and pour at 160-165. I do that then when it cools it is cracked around the wick i emailed them they told me to add crisco and i did it made no difference. any one had this problem or know what i could be doing to cause this. I have to use the heat gun to the top which takes extra time my last batch didnt do this. Not sure what i would be doing different. any suggestions? PS Merry Christmas:cheesy2:

This is probably a dumb question but i was wondering. I go to a supplier that has scents oils you spray on rosehips. What i was wondering could these be used for candles or are they a different oil? They smell so good if i could use these it would save me alot on shipping so i thought i would ask to see if anyone out there would know.

Anyone know where i could find a good carmelized praline. I smelled on at a little craft store i went to the other day it smelled so good i could of ate it.

a few days. I read on here that j50 doesnt need but a few days usually 2-5. I have read on here that some do cure and some dont. I have tried it both ways and didnt notice any difference.

snow thanks for the help. I just looked up those and the difference is yours say 3-4 mine say 2.5-4 is there something else i should be looking for because sounds to me like they cover the same thing but they must not or they wouldn't sell the 2 different ones. Thank you

Not sure maybe a couple hours. Never checked that i lite one this morning i would say around 9 and it is almost a full melt pool. they always get the full melt pool. I am just not sure what is going on they smell ok in the container.

I use J50 and i have been using jelly jars and soup cans to practice i am using zinc wicks 44-32-18 for i think it is 2.5-4.0 diameter. I have tried the 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2 ounces of fo's with my testing. I know they say alot gets wasted when you use to much but i was experimenting. The only one i smellled burning was the one with 2 ounces in. BC, country berry hotcakes (yumm). I have tried different scents from NG and BCN. My candles are burning so nice. No waste on the sides color is good. Do you think I am using a wick that is to big? There isnt alot of black smoke like it is to big. I didnt know if it would be burning up the scent. I didnt want to order more before i got some suggestions. this seems to be the right size for what i am doing. the containers are 2.5 diameter. Any suggestions.

I am new but i first tried Joy wax. It seemed to burn clean. The color i tried seemed to do nice in it. I did not try real dark colors. Now i am trying the J50 and i am having trouble with mine on the top Not looking very even (color wise). Wonder if there was just a bad batch. I have asked for suggestions. But have not recieved any. I did not have this problem when using the Joy Wax. I wanted to try J50 because it seemed alot of people on here used it. Good luck to You. Nik:D

I am new also and when i started looking i was looking for wholesale also. You might be able to get containers wholesale but as for candle supplies they dont do that the way they do is the more you buy the cheaper. from what i have found anyway. Welcome to the board.

i do heat the container in the oven on warm. It is not on the sides it is just on the top. When you say wet marks i am thinking more spoty. (I have not seen this yet) This is hard to explain it almost looks like swirls not really but kind of, almost looks like color and wax didnt mix well i did stir a while till it all seemed blended. I am still testing but this happened to me when i started using the J50 before that i tried joy wax NG and that didnt happen. It doesnt seem to be going away. The other way maybe to descripe it is it looks like lighter lines. Like if you would bend a hard piece of plastic and it got a little cloudy where you bent it. Sorry it is very hard to explain just thought maybe it would have happened to someone. About the votive wax I found 4794 on BC andI have tried some of their scents that were pretty good so i think i will order from them. I have been testing and testing some more just alot of Questions.
