  1. I don't take orders at craft shows, I just take x amount of product to sell and make sure that I have enough on hand. If I do run out of an item, I tell them to order online and will get it shipped out as soon as possible.

Hopefully this is what you are asking about. If not can you clarify? :D

  2. My daughter will be three in October. I started making candles when she was one. I did the whole gate thing until she realized that what mommy was doing was off limits because she could get real hurt. Around two years old is when I got to take the gate down, but let me tell you after a year of climbing over that gate you get pretty limber. lol

Also hubby works on a farm, so she would spend her late spring, summer and early fall at the farm feeding baby cows and such. Then I would keep her home when it was too hot outside or too cold for her to go. So with the help of a very supportive hubby and flexible schedules, we have made it work.

This is my second year of making candles and as each year passes she gains more interest in wanting to help. Like Dani and others have stated, if you want something bad enough you will make time for it.

I have time for everything family, friends, work...its all part of owning your own business. :D

  3. I had a dealing with a bubble once before I knew of the danger and pain in the tush that they cause. I noticed a hole in the top of one of my candles and didn't think much of it...because I didn't know better. Well when I lit the candle...the wick burned so quickly that when it hit some wax to slow it down, it had tunneled so far down that the wax pool put out the flame. It was impossible to burn that candle. I had to scrap out about one oz of wax, just to get the darn thing to light right.

I learned from that experience and now pay very very close attention to any and all bubbles and get rid of them as soon as I can. Nasty little burgers and this was in a container by the way. Not sure as to how the pillars would work.

Like posted before I have heard of the exploding candle as well. Never seen it happen and hope to never witness it. :D
