Pour your lotion in the bottles while still thin. It will thicken as it cools. Leave the lids off until it is cool.

I would take the rosebuds out before lighting that candle. Save them for potpourri.
That's alot of money for an 8 oz candle.

Welcome to candle making, cynthia.
This is the best board to find helpful information. I've learned alot in the last year.
I bought a kit at first. That got me hooked.
Candle making is fun and relaxing for me.

Really pretty. I wanted to try a rustic this weekend also. Haven't yet though. Been working on a catalog and website.

Hi;
In this section at the top. (right under your nose):smiley2: Helpful links for newbies.

I have a friend that I am treating like a distributor. I pay her 25% of the retail for any sales she does.
She is responsible for taking the order, collecting the money, and delivery.
I provide her with my brochure. If people call or email me with an order and mention her name, she gets credit for it.
She also signed a distributor agreement that I made up.

Does anyone have a sample contract that they can send me? I have searched the forum and didn't find anything.

I really like the palm wax one. Just started using it myself. I've found that the darker colors look better than light colors.
-
I had to explain to people at the craft show in Nov what they were. Also wickless candles.
But the word got out and they flew on the table. People were excited that there was something out there that they didn't have to have a flame.
-
I wick my 3" pillars so that there is about 1/4" left around the candle when burning. Haven't had any problems. Hopefully I won't.
The pillar that I am having problems wicking is a 2".

I haven't tried this one yet. I use her oils and just love them. Good strong scents.
-
That looks really nice.
I just started using palm wax also. The crystalline and the starburst. I get my wax fro letitshine out of Seattle.
You're right though...making them is easy...so far only one pour. The wicks I haven't got down yet either.
I just did an order for some melts, and the people loved them.

I've found that if I put the dye chips in my pyrex cup, the put in the microwave for about 30 to 45 seconds, the chips start to melt. Then I pour my wax in and stir. Haven't had any problems this way.
I have one bottle of liquid dye...I made a mess when I used that color. I need to buy more colors and use them. I like the ease of using 1 chip to a pound of wax, but the colors are deeper with the liquid.

I'm throwing another one at ya...Ocean Breeze from www.letitshineusa.com
-
Me too...I scent both. Sometimes different scents and colors for the chunks and overpour.
-
I make my chunks in mini ice cube trays. I have used 6060 soy wax, CB Pillar Blend, and CB Advanced (container wax) for my chunks and overpour.
I scent and color my chunks and overpour. Just make the overpour a light color.
Good luck, and show us pictures of your first one.
It doesn't matter how you put your chunks in the mold. I just toss mine in. Sometimes all at once. Sometimes, I will pour a little, put in some chunks, then pour some wax, then chunks. Do this until the mold is full.
I've made jar chunk candles also.

Linda, approximately how much was the shipping, if you don't mind my asking? I live about 3 hrs west of Boise and when I tried putting some items into their shopping cart, the shipping quote was still quite high, and overall I would save only $0.33 than ordering the same items from Peak.
For 10#'s of wax, 5 scent samples, and a little bit of wick. $11.51

I buy all my wax from LetitShine. I live in Mullan, ID and...if I order early in the morning, the order is here the next day.
Their fragrance oils are strong in soy.
Communication and customer service are great also.

I am working on getting a 2" pillar wicked right. Then I am going to try an ice candle. Got to get some new scents poured also. Testing is what this weekend is all about.
Someplace in there I should clean house also.

Hi Kelly;
I would suggest doing your homework and research (reading posts) before you just jump in. Learn from others.
Go to www.candlesceince.com Use their wick guide to determine where to start at with a wick.
Personally, I like about 1/4" left around my pillars. Although, my 3" pillars are a little less. If I let them burn too long, they start to spill out the sides.
Good luck, let us know how they turn out.

WOW.... These candles are really beautiful.
I just went to your website...how can anyone burn your candles????? They are just awesome!!!!!
-
Take a deeeeeep breath!!!!
If you call them, I'm sure they will help you, so you get it paid on time.
-
Thank you Pat. Next time I get to a city, I will look.

Has anyone seen these in their travels, (online or offline). I have searched, but can't come up with anything close.
The holder with the plate is what I'm after.

I've been trying to do this also. Haven't figured it out yet though. Hopefully someone knows.
