  1. I have a friend that I am treating like a distributor. I pay her 25% of the retail for any sales she does.

She is responsible for taking the order, collecting the money, and delivery.

I provide her with my brochure. If people call or email me with an order and mention her name, she gets credit for it.

She also signed a distributor agreement that I made up.

  2. That looks really nice.

I just started using palm wax also. The crystalline and the starburst. I get my wax fro letitshine out of Seattle.

You're right though...making them is easy...so far only one pour. The wicks I haven't got down yet either.

I just did an order for some melts, and the people loved them.

  3. I've found that if I put the dye chips in my pyrex cup, the put in the microwave for about 30 to 45 seconds, the chips start to melt. Then I pour my wax in and stir. Haven't had any problems this way.

I have one bottle of liquid dye...I made a mess when I used that color. I need to buy more colors and use them. I like the ease of using 1 chip to a pound of wax, but the colors are deeper with the liquid.

  4. I make my chunks in mini ice cube trays. I have used 6060 soy wax, CB Pillar Blend, and CB Advanced (container wax) for my chunks and overpour.

I scent and color my chunks and overpour. Just make the overpour a light color.

Good luck, and show us pictures of your first one.

It doesn't matter how you put your chunks in the mold. I just toss mine in. Sometimes all at once. Sometimes, I will pour a little, put in some chunks, then pour some wax, then chunks. Do this until the mold is full.

I've made jar chunk candles also.

  5. Linda, approximately how much was the shipping, if you don't mind my asking? I live about 3 hrs west of Boise and when I tried putting some items into their shopping cart, the shipping quote was still quite high, and overall I would save only $0.33 than ordering the same items from Peak.

For 10#'s of wax, 5 scent samples, and a little bit of wick. $11.51

  6. Hi Kelly;

I would suggest doing your homework and research (reading posts) before you just jump in. Learn from others.

Go to www.candlesceince.com Use their wick guide to determine where to start at with a wick.

Personally, I like about 1/4" left around my pillars. Although, my 3" pillars are a little less. If I let them burn too long, they start to spill out the sides.

Good luck, let us know how they turn out.
