  1. Thanks for taking your time to reply, I really appreciate the advice. Well that made things a bit easier for the moment
  2. Hi Crafters, Its been awhile for me. Just started research and work on dry oil perfume using Cyclomethicone and FCO. Still dinking around with the ratios not sure if I want to do a 90% cyclo 10% FCO or 70-30? Still working out the kinks. Trail trail trail Question, does this type of perfume require some sort of preservative? If so, are you willing to throw out some preservative ratios for these early work ideas? TIA. and its great to be back!!
  3. Thank you for taking the time to look I appreciate it
  4. Hi, I have been looking every place that I can think of for a FO that would fit this category. My DH loves the smell of books new or old. Id love to find a FO for him. Hopefully someone can direct me in the right location. Thanks in advance!
  5. Ive been dabling into fragrance and my daughters birthdays coming up. I thought "Wouldnt it be cool to have lava lamp perfume instead of lipgloss" ive been trying to tweak things before i buy anything major. Would cyclo work for the "lava" part of the perfume, mixed with liquid glycerin for the "top" and fo. Ive been trying to create a recipe for it for my daughters birthday as a surprise. Any help would be appreciated greatly....would love for this idea to work
  6. When I pour candles I always let them cure for atleast 5 days. Then I test them. Keeping notes is the key and to remeber that not all FO throws the same in different types of wax.
  7. http://www.pvsoap.com/recipes.htm or http://www.pioneerthinking.com/baths.html try those
  8. When I first started on here Natures Garden was the first place I bought FO from. So I have a nestolgic love for them. I havent been to their site in awhile, I should check it out today {Wallet cringes}.
  9. I live in Clarkston, WA and while I was making candles I had to order from Letitshineusa.com thy seemed a bit spendy to me as well. I ended up just buying what I wanted at candlescience.com
  10. I did a search on google for Zinc Oxide Wholesale and came up with this link http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/zinc-oxide-usp-p-569.html Thats a start...hope it helps.
  11. It wont make a difference really. I lived in one of those kind of homes when my husband was in the army. The extiminator had a weekly appiontment going with us. They finally got rid of them. We also put Boric acid on the counters in the kitchen at night. Mix with water and wipe things down. They track through it and take it home with them so when they group clean they all eat. It causes gas and bugs cant pass gas so they blow up. Wont get rid of all of them but it will help calm things down so the extiminator can get rid of them faster. Seriously Ive been through this infestation it helps tremendously. Also get rid of any left over card board boxes from the move they thrive and breed in those. Hope this helps.
  12. I plan on changing up my wax to Cargil C-3, using USA additive , and NG FO theres a few thats why i plan on testing testing. The container is 2.75 inch width and 3.5 inches height. I know the best thing to do is test until you cant test no more..LOL I just need a starting piont. So Im assuming that particular jar is ok for my candles, I just need to test the wicks and Fo then?
  13. Hi everyone. Im going to start wicking candles this coming month....test test test. Ive decide to go to jars and havent found a jar that i fancy. I saw these http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=149 and liked them but thought i should ask the experienced veterns if this particular glass jar would work, and if so what wicks should i start out with to test. TIA
  14. Thats the same thing my sister said, hehe. Nice fragrance nevertheless

  18. I bought Evening Mocha from SGS. All I can say is Yummy. I also bought a few other FOs including Blackberry Veinesse Latte, which Im burning a melt in that fragrance right now....awesome stuff is all I can say. Anyone else tried these?
  19. HI! Ive been doing research on making mineral makeup, and I have a question for those that make it. Could you use small drops of essential oil to fragrant the make up or would that not work. I know its done by trail and error and it was just a thought but I wanted to ask you guys and gals. I figured the essential oil could not only fragrant the make up but help for keeping the skin moisurized. THANKS in advance! I know the best way to do anything, or so Ive found, is to just jump in. I just dont want to jump in totally oblivious
  20. Thanks for the grats. Yes i saw there was a place for wickless after the fact lol
  21. Im excited! I poured my first batch of wickless candles lastnight and so far so good...they are scented Black Orchid by Southern Garden Scents. I put 1 ounce by wt for 1 lbs of Ecosoya CB Advanced. I poured at 130 F. Great cold throw so far. Im going to let it cure til Friday then plop the container on my wax burner. Ill let you guys and gals know how they turn out after this weekend of burning! When I master the pour temps Im going to work on wicking! But that wont be for a couple months I think. Im gonna take my time.
