Fireside and Red Clove, all I can is WOW! That red clove is right on the money. Ordered samplers of them and got them today. I hope they throw as well as they smell OOB.

I am with you Donita. I got my very first one to work, and thought, I can do this, it is easy. But alas I have not gotten one to come out since. I have tried everything too. And sweet Sherie has been giving me tips and I just can't do it again. Not sure what I am doing wrong either. If you find out what the trick is, be sure and let me know, LOL!

It is hard to tell someone how many drops of color to use to achieve a certain color. I would almost think about 5 drops of orange to 1 brown, but that is just a guess on my part, I usually just use straight orange in soy. Would be interested in what you come up with.

I would also like to add, I get nice vivid colors and dark colors. I have never had a problem getting the color I wanted. Not sure if it is the type of dye or not, but I use liquids and get great color.

I guess I have landscapes on the brain tonight. These look like a landscape against a sunset. Very beautiful.

I am a color person, I love color, so I color mine. I think it is fun to play with color, also helps me distinguish one from the other easier.

I notice it when burning. I think I have only had one that I have noticed it in, and that was the Wild Cherry.

LOL! Congrats on your first votives. They are really pretty simple once you get the hang of it. I love making votives, just don't make them a lot.

I was having bubble issues in my KY soy last Feb. Found out that my thermometers were not working properly and I was overheating my wax. So I changed to digital and have not had the bubble issues anymore.

I agree, buy a sample pack of the wicks you are interested in, or the easiest for you to get and try them for yourself. Zincs are a cool burning wick and not always the best to use in soy. It will also depend on what FO and the wax you are using as well. Right now I use 3 different HTP wick sizes, depending on the FO's. And that is all for 1 jar size. As far as wasting wax and FO; when you are learning to make candles, you will do a lot of that if you are testing properly.

I really like them. My first impression of the yellow and white one was fried eggs as well, LOL! Very creative, can't wait to get to making mine, that has give me a nice idea for some of these plastic tart molds I have laying around.

It really depends on the soy. Mine are good to go after 24 hours. I think letting them sit longer helps a little. I use mostly FO's that will throw right away, as I pour on demand right now. I know that some soys really do better with a longer curing time.

I'd also like to add, it helps on the first time, if you spray them lightly with something such as Pam spray and wipe out the excess. If they stick on ya, just pop them in the freezer for about 4 or 5 mins, then they usually slide right out of the cups and off the pins.

added: there isn't that much space, really. Just enough, to get the wick up through it. It doesn't matter if there is a little space, when you burn it the first time it is going to fill in anyway.

Also, whatever you wrap them in, they travel quite well in shipment. I didn't have any come to me broken or chipped on the spring swap, even after all of the traveling they did.
