Sexy Mountain Man, a favorite at the shows

  2. We are the same over here. Pouring candles, shrink wrapping, packing all week for weekend markets or parties. I had a market and a party last Saturday. Fun doing 2 in one day. Got home around 9 pm Saturday night, poured more candles, printed labels, went to bed to get up early for a flight to New Zealand for my full time job. Currently in New Zealand where I have placed orders, answered emails (as well as worked of course). Gly back Friday morning, pick supplies up in Sydney, drive 2 hours home, pour more candles, load car for a party on Friday night. Up early Saturday morning for the first day of a 2 day fair, both Saturday & Sunday. Finish around 4 pm Sunday, pack up, load car, drive home, inload car, put suitcase in and drive to airport for a late flight to Melbourne for 2 days work down there!

It never stops, so yeah we are tired....LOL Sure its nice but it will be nice to have a break after Christmas for the best part of the 2 hottest months of the year, where we will work on new products and testing, getting ready to begin it all again in March. Good fun, but bloody hard work. Most people have no idea what goes into it all.....

    Cheers

    Richard

Oh my...you really got a crazy schedule. I agree most of my friends and family do not understand how much work goes into this crazy obsession...lol

  3. Remember that you cannot always just go by sales on that date. I attended a rainy, yucky show a few weeks ago and barely made stand rent. Regreted doing it. But since then I have been contacted by at least two different people who attended that event and bought product who now are ordering $100 worth of stuff. So sometimes you do it for the connections.

Very true, I did a show last week like that, not such a great show but ended up with a couple big orders later that week, you never know until you do the show if it is worth it or not.

  4. I basically have a show every weekend, sometimes two through the week before Christmas since the beginning of October and I'm already exhausted. I consider myself reasonably fit but these shows take a lot out of ya...lol :tongue2: Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad to have the business but its sure is a workout. Does anyone else feel this way?

  5. I use http://www.designer218.com/ and the customer service I receive is a 20 on a scale of 1-10. I don't think Amanda ever sleeps...I can email a question at 1 in the morning while I am working on my site, thinking I will get an answer the next day, only to have a response within minutes. I cannot recommend Designer 218 enough!

I couldn't agree more, Amanda is amazing!

  6. Has anyone seen these or tried to make them? I came across these the other day in the mall and was totally fascinated by them. They are a little pricey but I'm sure they could be made for a less. post-4600-139458488205_thumb.jpg I think they were retailing for $35 but I really like the packaging and idea of this. Any thoughts?

  7. Yucky scent!! What I would do is use it up (with a mask) in tarts and give them away to people I dont really like for Christmas!:naughty: Just kidding- that would be cruel cause that FO is completely gross!

LOL...now I know what to do with my LS...that is just some nasty stuff...lol :lipsrseal

  8. How many inches of peanuts between your double-bubble-wrapped tumblers and the sides of the shipping box? Are your tumblers in little gift boxes? What kind of bubble wrap? big bubbles? or small bubbles?

Yes, tumblers are in gift boxes, it depends on what bubble I have on hand, if small bubble I will wrap twice, if big bubble once, then pack as many p-nuts as possible to keep them stable. I haven't measured but I would guess I have at least an inch of p-nuts if not more. HTH

  9. Yup, I get this all the time, especially from people who say they own a store and want to carry my product, would I mind sending them some samples to try first. I tell them they can purchase a tart/melt first to see if they like the scent before buying a bigger candle. For some reason I never hear back from them. The only place that I have sent free samples to is Candlefind.com because I solicited them for the review.
