  1. When I used 4627 straight, I had the best luck with zinc wicks... the scent throw was great but the mushrooming was horrid. I know that zinc wicks are not usually recommended for this wax, but I tried so many wicks and always went back to the zincs. At the time, I lived in a humid state with lots of rain... now I am starting testing in the desert. LOL, I know it sounds silly, but it seems to me that the wax, fo, and wicks are reacting differently here. Sorry I couldn't help with your particular wick... :/

  2. Exactly. I had tried one years ago (been out of this for several years now), by candlechem I believe.

JS is on sale for 8.95lb... great buy if it is good.

It is discontinued, but I am a hobby candle maker...

  3. Has anyone tried strawberry musk from Justscent?? I see it is on the sale list and I would love to give it a try.

Also curious about peeps... lol... smells yum.

I need to get an order in for orange chiffon cake, and citrus linen H20...so was curious about these. Want to make the order worth the shipping fees... lol

    TIA :smiley2:

  4. Just wanted to say hey... :smiley2:

Been a HOT minute since I have been on the board due to some bad life circumstances but now I am back and back to this addiction. Melted down a bunch of tarts I've had laying around for a couple years to make container candles :laugh2: Back at the addiction.

Glad this sites still around, lots of amazing, helpful info.

  5. OMG... hilarious. I haven't been here often cause I search the internet for Twilight blogs and forums! LOL :laugh2:

I like the idea of sunwashed linen and lemon for sunshine.

But it has to be SEXY too! hmmmm....

Jacob should be a delicious earthy scent (I have to remind myself he is only 17!!) haha...

Thank you for this thread... you have brightened my day...

  6. Hmmmmmm, that is a hard one. Maybe a perfume or cologne dupe.

If I were sniffing a candle with that name, I would think of a lady club-hopping in Vegas with a drink that never leaves her hand. ;) but that may be because I am from there.

I am no help at all am I?

  7. CS is sending me a sample of H&G to test and see if it is the same as my 16oz bottle. Maybe I got the wrong oil?? If it is the wrong one, I imagine it could only be Cinnamon Buns or something like that. I have never tried there cinnamon buns so I have no clue....

Anyhow, once I get this sample and test, I will let you know if the problem was fixed or not. I hope so!

  8. Hmmmmm, that is a good idea. I am going to have to brainstorm whether or not it is a good idea for me to do something similar.

    Thank you for sharing!

  9. I'm still using it in my 50/50 at 7% and it is throwing like crazy! I bought my last bottle in october and it smells just as strong. Could it be your wax? I know I've heard of changes in wax that could cause it.

I am still on the same batch of wax, so I have eliminated that. Plus, all my other good throwers are throwing great still.

I am trying it in my 4627 as a wickless to see how it does in that....cause it threw wicked strong in wickless candles with comfort blend.

  10. I just got it not too long ago (first time for me) so I can't really comment on the difference in throw. I know it gets 3 leaves on the site and I thought it was definately lighter compared to others that are rated the same. Still smells wonderful though!

It smells the exact same.... just not throwing like it use to.

I use to test burn it at 9% fo ratio, and it would smell up my whole house.... literally. You could smell it if you stood outside my front door with the door closed. Now, with 2 burning, 1 in LR and 1 in BR, I can smell it, but still at a med. throw. Not 3 leaf worthy anymore.:sad2:

  11. It would help if you said who you got the H&GH from.

I know, I was trying not to say "who" until I heard back from them. Well, I heard back this morning and they told me to heat wax to such and such temp, stir fo for such and such time, and cure for a few days before testing. All of which I do. BUT, I have never had to cure this fo for tarts. NEVER. It has always been a HUGE thrower from the get go for me.

It's CS's. This bottle was ordered at the end of October. I am seriously baffled over this... if my bottle is a dud, what would cause it to be?
