  1. I am wanting to make a small hurricane was wondering about using a container that was bought with cake icing in it,just a ordinary container of cake icing,would this work and would the picture still remain in the wax or would it stick to the plastic of the container.

I heard you can add Crisco to your candle wax to get a better scent throw.Does anyone know if this really works?I have made alot of tarts with different waxes and scents but can never get a good cold throw but really good burning I wonder if this would help.If anyone has tried this and it works can you tell me how much you add per pound of wax.Thanks
  3. I really like the hurricanes with the photos but I think they would be much prettier with wicks even though no one would burn them, Does anyone do hurricanes with wicks or are the molds just too large to do this?
  4. have never seen the square Are those just called hurricane molds also?I like those better than the round ones I have seen,looks smaller.
  5. I have been putting my tarts in the little zip lock bags individually but seems the scent just isnt very strong just after a few days,How long do you think scent should last in those? Is there something better to use to store tarts in to keep scent,I was trying to get a head start on Christmas Gifts but dont want to give them with no smell..

  7. I got some really good info. on the scents from the candle source,sound like alot of people use them and really like them,no wondering if anyone has tried their preblended wax for making tarts if so how was the hot and cold throw?
  8. I have never used soy but I tried the Astor V and could not get a good cold throw at all smells really good buring but when people are sniffing to see how the scent is there isnt a smell hardly at all cold..could have been the scent I used too but I did use 1 full oz. per pound.

  18. I have been thinking of orering some fragrances from Aunt B's Candles Would like some comments on them if anyone has used them..If it is a bad comment Please p.m. me instead of posting if you wish,that way there wont be any problems
  19. :undecided I have been using Astrolite V wax for tarts, I love the way they turn out no shrinkage at all requires no repour but I'm not impressed with the scent throw I have used more than enough fragrance but it doesn't seem to hold the fragrance well, I have tried pouring at high and low temperatures.What would be a good wax with no shrinkage and a better scent throw for tarts.
