  1. I'm thinking of making a Natures Garden order & I want to narrow down my list. Has anyone tried their "Wildberry Scone"? I'm trying to eliminate anything I don't "need"(ok, so none of us actually "need" more fo's!!!) or anything that may have a fragrance twin from another supplier. I have BC's Wildberry and their Wildberry Zinger, I have Daystar's Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies and I have Just Scent's Jam-Berri Scones.

For anyone that has tried NG's and any of the above, do any of them smell similar? or does NG's smell alot like another oil from another supplier that I may not have mentioned? Thanks so much!

  2. I've been using WSP's Goats Milk & Honey lotion base for almost 2 years & yes: it is that easy to use. Just add Fo(1%-2%) & you are done. It's great. The only negative I ever had about it is that the bucket it comes in is hard to open the first 2 or 3 times you use it. It doesn't come in a jug that you can add a pump to, to pump it out. But once you open & close it a few times to scoop out the amount you need per jar or bottle, it gets easier to open the lid. Just keep it closed tight each time so that no nasties get in there!& keep it out of this summer heat in a cool, dark place. You will find this base very easy to work with. Go for it !

  3. I don't know of 7-up fo's, but have an opinion on TC. I've been to the storefront & sniffed bottles till I literally had a headache! In all fairness, sniffing oob isn't an accurate comparison to putting fo in wax, but too many of their fo's had a very similar chemical like smell. I've heard others say the same thing -- it's like most of them have the same off note that just makes the scent wrong. One of my all time favs comes from them (Peppermint Creme) & I've found several I really like, so it's just hit or miss w/ what you find appealing. They will price match suppliers in the Dallas area, so you might try getting some sample sizes at a price better than what their site shows.

    Susan.

I think that is what I remembered from the handful I had gotten a while back. They all had this "same" kind of an off note to them. Weird because they were all different kinds of scents, but with a common weirdness to them. You hit it right on the head. Thanks!

  4. Are there any other 7-up type scents out there other than Taylored Concepts & NG's 7-up pound cake?

Another question: Taylored Concepts has such an extensive scent list, but I once ordered a few oils from them about 1 1/2 years ago & I didn't like them that much (for B&B). Could I have just picked a couple of "so-so" oils? Are they worth trying again? Thanks all!!!!!

  5. Unfortunately, you'll have to do what we've all done: spend much money ordering tons of samples from many, many suppliers, test-test-test, & then narrow it down to your favorites & make those your main suppliers. Life would be wonderful & so much cheaper if there were one supplier that carried the very best & my favorites of everything. I've been testing oils for a few years now & I still haven't tried every single supplier on the master list. I wish I could though! Once I find a favorite for a particular scent, I stop searching & make that "the one" & then go on searching for the next scent on my lists. I know it isn't much of a help, but check out the big supplier list at the very top of the Fragrance Discussion section. Let me see if this link works:

You can read through reviews of individual oils at each supplier at these search/review boards. I've stayed up many a night reading them. It's actually quite fun & it's really helpful.

  6. I love & use both places, but I'm only making B&B products, no wax. For B&B they are both TOPS/EXCELLENT! Put yourself on the Just Scent email newsletter & every Friday night or Saturday Morning they will send you an email telling you of the new weekly sale, that changes every week. I just love JS for b&b. As for Aroma Haven, I can't wait for them to have another sample sale because there are alot more I still want to sniff!

  7. This was on their site in the FAQ section:

    Question :

    1/2oz of scent to a gallon, but what about a 4oz or 8oz bottle? imgAnswer.gifAnswer :

The rule of thumb is 1/2oz of scent to a gallon(128oz) of base, and up to 1 full oz.

For a 4oz bottle use about 7 to 14 drops of scent.

For an 8oz bottle use about 14 to 28 drops of scent.

Remember that not all scents are the same. Some contain more carrier oils than others and some are just more potent period. Always test your batches and keep good records of your mixing formulas.

If you over scent you can always add more base product, but you will have to know how much scent you used in order to know how much more base to add, once again keep notes.

Always start with the minimum and work your way up.
