My business has gone way down also. I had a great month last month, the best month ever, but so far this month has been very slow. Maybe it's because of the tax season. I certainly hope so.
One thing I'm doing to drum up business is sending a personal "thank you" by mail to each customer who bought last month and offering them a discount on their next purchase.
Right now, I'm very thankful to be getting my tax refund soon--Feb. 16th. Yea!

I got my first order in from Solas this afternoon. I ordered three: Be Delicious type, Drakkar type, and Energy.
I expected to love all of them, but I was disappointed by the Drakkar type and the Be Delicious type. I have not tried them in wax, but OOB they have a really funky smell. I tried a little of the Be Delcious on my wrist; it was not very strong and still had that weird smell. I wanted to mix it with an oil and use it as perfume. I had a tiny little sample that I had tried from The Scent Works, and I loved that one. I assumed this one would smell the same.
I was very surprised by Energy. It seems to be a pretty good scent.

The shipping on my retail part is $5. Basically, I'm eating the rest of the shipping cost. I ship heavy bottles of soap, so most of the time, the shipping is over $5. Also, I offer free shipping for purchases over $100. I've been doing it this way for over a year, and it works out well, although it may not seem that way. My business has more than doubled.
The wholesale section charges the actual shipping rate, but I sell the products at a lower price. My profits come out pretty much the same as the retail section.

I've used Mal's for about two years now and love it. I have two carts--one for my regular area and one for my wholesale area. The regular area uses a flat $5 shipping rate, while the wholesale area figures the shipping based on weight. I use AuctionInc.com to figure the shipping for USPS and UPS. However, they will determine the shipping for Federal Express and DHL also.

I use a medium brown.

I buy from all over and have a long list of favorite suppliers: Tony's, OFS, ICS, GL, Peaks, SW, CC, AH/RE, Mint Meadow. I just ordered from Solas last week, but the oils haven't arrived yet.

Why don't you just sell them on the classifieds?

Madina has the Ezra Fitch kind. It smells really wonderful. I'm not sure if it's an exact dupe, since I haven't smelled the real one.

What supplier did you use for the Rice Flower & Shea?
Endless Love and Rose Petals. For one that has not been mentioned and I absolutely love is Rice Flower and Shea.It is a floral and springy but when I do my Valentine choices it will be there.I have a car air freshener now and it is a knockout.

I got the Chocolate Dipped Strawberries from FOH. OOB it smells more choclate than strawberry. I haven't tried it in wax yet.
Does anyone know where I can find chocolate covered strawberries scent? I think this will be a good seller for Valentine's Day. Or will I have to mix chocolate fo with a strawberry fo? Thanks -
Peaks has a fireside.

Edited my post.

I've used both. The GoDaddy cart is the easier of the two to set up.
I now use the Mals-e cart, and love it. It was a little harder, especially setting up the selection choices and the "View Cart" and "Check Out" buttons. I used FrontPage to design my site and inserted the Mals-e buttons into the web pages.

Cute story! That's a good idea for my 7-year-old!

Flat-rate is a wonderful thing! I'm hoping the prices don't go up any time soon.

I love their Southern Vanilla for mixing.

I got the molds from flexiblemolds.com.

I usually leave them for an hour or two before I try to pop them out.

I bought two silicone tart molds two weeks ago. One is a cinnamon bun mold; the first time I used it, it worked perfectly. Now the tarts are sticking and breaking when I try to get them out. I tried spraying with no stick candle spray, but that didn't work either.
The second one is a gingerbread boy mold. I can't get any of the tarts to come out whole. They all break.
I use GW 416. What am I doing wrong? Is there a secret to these things that I don't know about?

I've ordered and have been very happy with their service and their quick shipping.

I don't think they're too light at all. The color is beautiful!

I remembered that someone was looking for this. I just saw it on www.snowdriftfarm.com. I haven't ordered yet, so I don't know if it's a perfect dupe or not. Has anyone tried this one from Snowdrift Farm?
