Did you ask them what the difference is between the different grades? I dont think there is a difference between the pellets or the flakes, but not sure. I order a case from the same place and my most recent order the pellets were grey which I'm finding is discoloring my soap a little (makes the lye water grey).

Can anyone give me some scent recommendations for CP soap from fragrancesandflavors? Its a division of WSP. I ordered 6 scents a while ago and only liked 3 - any help is appreciated. Sandy

I think the tops look like a lime rind and the soap looks like the inside of a lime artisically! Looks good!

I have found that some products will discolor, in the colored plastic bottles. The product eats into the bottle and the color of the bottle gets into the product.
I would suggest you package in a colored bottle then let it set for months and see if you have a reaction. Sure it's a long time to test but you don't want to sell a product that will discolor over time.
Have you tested the cobalt blue bottles? I am partial to them... dont make anything to bottle atm, but for future reference.
Also, got a VS gift of lotion, body spray and body wash a while ago and it looks like the voilet bottles listed on the website above - do they sell their products so quick that it dosent react?? Anyone know? lol Just curious. Sandy

I've tried to make it 3 times - followed the recipe to a "T" and all batches seperated on me as well.... no clue what I'm doing wrong.
-
Could just be the FO seeping out. I've had a few do that - I just left it alone and it turns out ok.

Those are both stunning! Black is a hard color to use - I've done more - bleeds when you use it/turns into a solid black bar of soap/made my tub a ngihtmare to clean - batches than I've had decent ones lol... I've cut alot of it up and used it as chunks in the same scented loaf/log... looks pretty cool - if your not happy try that!

Beautiful! Handmade & Handmade - goes together great!

Thanks so much sudsnwicks! I'm sure it seems obvious but I've spent so many hours in the last few days staring at the computer trying to figure out what I want to do that it made me confused. Thanks again!

Hmm.. not sure.. I'm too confused atm after looking at the comp for over 4 hours lol... ok I'm with yahoo for a domain name, but their prices are high for hosting, I've already sent many brochures with my email attached, if I switch to a different host, will I lose my email at yahoo?
-
If I switch my domain hosting, I lose my email with my current host? Sorry if this seems so obvious. Thanks, Sandy

I agree that the bases arent comparable, and the only reason I started to try making some is that I have a request from my MIL to create a cream for her - she is allergic to formaldahyde releasing preservatives ( the germall lines, and one other cant think of name, also its in Select Shades colorants), so I dont have too many options for a preservative in her case.
I do have ewax - but this batch I made I used beeswax.... which seems ok but I definitely need to play around more.

I've done two CPHP - and the 1st one overheated and literally overspilled out of the crockpot - is that what your saying yours did? I threw mine away.. only because it was a small starter batch. The 2nd one did not have oils on the top.. it was like oatmeal consistency... other than that I'm no help. lol
-
Very pretty! I tried cocoa powder once... and it was WAY too much apparently because it overpowered the FO I used. It was bad... lmao

I have tried samples from quite a few places at this point for bases.... I just today made a VERY small batch of lotion (just playing). What makes a nice lotion? The synthetic ingredients or more expenive, natural ingredients? I used only 6 natural ingredients and while I'm happy with the result, I couldnt see selling it. (I know, test, test, & test). I guess I'm just curious what others think about synthetic vs. natural. Thanks, Sandy
Edited to add: For those of you who make your own lotion does the customer know what they want as far as ingredients? Is natural lotion a commodity?

Heres the link to see what I'm talking about... Sorry if it was confusing.. there is a main shipshe place in Indiana (that the waiting list is years long).. this is a different thing from that.
-
Its a huge flea market/retail outdoor market in Indiana.. but they also take it "on the road" traveling to different states, doing indoor shows. You can apply to be a vendor. The fee isnt that bad, and they claim to have around 20,000 attend.
-
Anyone ever sell at one of these?
-
Very pretty! Cant wait to see cut pics!
-
I have ordered from them and can say they have great product and service! I received my order the very next day. Lucky you!
-
Just curious what everyones thoughts are on shows that have handmade, flea market and retail sellers all in one. There is a huge show coming up like that around here in November, and was curious if its worth it - or do people go to thses looking for bargains? Tia, Sandy
