  1. What is Jo's site?

The website says that it includes Vybar!

    They do testers aswell...

I noticed that you said *blended* wax, so yes you are correct that it going to have some vybar already in it. (Especialy if the site says so.:) )

That being the case, you most probably don't need to purchase any extra vybar at this point in time.

You most definitley want to take britishgirl's advice and get a wick sampler pack, that way if one size doesn't give you the results you want you can have others to choose from.

  2. If you buy aluminum molds from the U.S., Candle Science has really good prices and are located on the east coast. (N.C.) I'm not sure about their overseas shipping, but their in country shipping is very reasonable compared to the industry average, I'd say they have better than average rates.

As for the western half of the U.S. Peaks would be my choice for the same.

  3. Hats off to You (and your husband and daughter!) Way to Go! I understand some of the feelings and ramifications of not being able to do what you used to be able to do. Being disabled with chronic pain here (see what hours I'm awake at - 4 am.- oh yay..lol), candle making has become some good therapy for me, too...:smiley2:

I don't make soaps, but I know that you know, what I'm saying. Making either candles or soap can be good for the spirit.

That's a very good article and I loved the part about your daughter helping test the products. "If they think it stinks, they'll say so." ...lol...and the line about, "The only animals we use in testing are my kids.” was good for a chuckle as well.

I also love the name that you came up with, "Veronica's Lavish Lathers".

Best wishes for your continued success...:yay:

  4. I would love directions, but I am new and am not able to send you a pm for some reason? any suggestions?

    Hi Yorkie Girl,

You will be able to send and receive pm's and see the classifieds and such only after you have been a member for 30 days (I think) and a certain number of posts. It used to be 8 posts.

Anyway, hang in there and welcome to CT.

ps. Posting in the off topic area doesn't add to your post count.

pss. Nice work! on the Grubby Jars Laura.. :smiley2:

  5. Ditto what others have said, plus I like your awning, welcome mat, and that your business hours are pretty easy to read from the curb. It's looks like you have put a great deal of thought, not to mention work, into making your business a success.

I surely hope you continue to succeed. Be good to yourself as much as you can and as soon as you can. Working all of those hours, I'd hate to see you burn out. Under the current conditions as the sole producer, the whole deal relies on your well being, nearly 100% of the time.

Hats Off to You - Well Done! :yay:

  6. Correct - I stated that in paragraph 1 of my post..." It would need to be curved of course, for round molds."

    :smiley2:

As thin as those imprints seem to be, it probably wound'nt be extremely difficult to put the curve into the metal. A good sturdy piece of round stock of the correct diameter and a bit of pressure.
