  1. So, what do I use to grease the inside of the Crystal Light container? Does the soap come out pretty easily?
  2. I saw the cutest little jars in a display the other day. They were the low profile jars (plastic), and the lids were animal print. Anyone seen a supplier for these lids?
  3. This has been a common problem for me when fragrancing gels. You can use a thickener like liquid crothix (I believe). What I did was, I stopped using those gels and went to a suspension gel (from MMS). I have not had that thinning out problem with this suspension base.
  4. I think I read somewhere that any ingredient less than 10% did not need to be listed. Does anyone know if this is true?
  5. Make one batch, divide it up and fragrance each one. Excellent idea! Thanks! CareBear... I did not know that about the oils. I've just always followed the same recipe instructions I started out with about 3 years ago!
  6. I add the fo with the superfatting oil at light trace. Thanks everyone. I'll check out that scent review site.
  7. Darn! I almost ordered some and then saw that it contained mineral oil. I've got a statement on my website that I never use mineral oil in my products.
  8. I am so bummed about making CP batches of soap that have no fragrance at all, because the fragrance oil completely disappeared during the process. I generally fragrance at 1 oz. per pound. I've decided to start making sample batches so that I can see how the fragrance turns out BEFORE I waste all these supplies. I know I should have been doing this all along... my fault. Two questions: 1) In terms of ounces, how small of a batch can I make? 2) Is there some trick I don't know about that preserves the fragrance oil during the CP process... like temperature? I usually soap at a temperature of 85 - 98 F. I do not insulate.
  9. I guess I can try to whiten some with bleach. Celly... I believe the ones at Elements are natural - not white. Thanks for your responses.
  10. P.S. I, also, phoned my cc sales in later that day (after the show). I got stiffed on 3 of them! I eventually got my money, but this would have been avoided if I'd had one of those on-the-spot-approval-swipers.
  11. Thanks eugenia! I've got one of those. I'm talking about the electronic ones that they use at check out in the stores. Last craft fair I was in was out in the wilderness. I was using the manual swiper and some other people were using those electronic ones that accept/deny the credit cards right away. There was no electricity furnished at this craft fair, so I was wondering how these electronic ones worked.
  12. How do these things operate? Do they need any electricity -- like an outlet to plug into? Can they be used at craft shows in the middle of a cow pasture, in the middle of nowhere?
  13. Anyone know where I can find white cotton or muslin bags - 4 x 6? I have the unbleached muslin bags, but I'm specifically looking for white. Thanks.
  14. Thanks, everyone. The pear I soaped with was Pear Pleasure from AH. It is very faint and not what I am looking for. I have not smelled the Pearberry. I can't begin to imagine what Monkey Farts must smell like!? NOTE: In soaping with the fruit fragrances (from various suppliers), I have noticed that MANY of them accelerate.
  15. www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com has both kinds of cocoa butter. www.scent-works.com has the deodorized. www.thesage.com has both. I love Google and don't know what I'd do without it. But a lot of times, it's faster to just post a message here to find out where to find certain products.
  16. P.S. The fragrance I use for my salt bars is Stress Relief from TFO (Tony's Fragrance Oils). People love it.
  17. I believe "AGE" is A Garden Eastward. I don't know what "OT" is. Let me know if you find the list that translates these initials.
  18. Hi, everyone! I'm looking for some good, tried and true fruit fragrances that will hold up in CP soap and actually SMELL like fruit. I am specifically looking for a true peach and a pear. Any suggestions? P.S. I just soaped with a pear several days ago, and I can hardly smell it today. I really hate to waste my supplies like this
  19. I've always wanted to make a batch of plain olive oil soap. Yesterday, I finally made a 3.9 lb. batch. It was very easy and traced/poured beautifully. My question is this... It seems to take a long time to "set." My regular CP soap recipes are pretty set a few hours later and ready to unmold within about 18 hours. This batch is taking longer. Is this common for castile soap? Don't have my notes in front of me, but I believe this is the recipe I used: 16 oz. water 7.96 oz. lye 62.4 oz. olive oil
  20. I'm in Alabama, where the humidity is extremely high. To me, fizzies are the most difficult thing to make. I am told (by a successful Alabama fizzy maker), that the secret is in the amount of water you add to your recipe. She says to use the least amount possible, or none at all. I have made several good batches of fizzies using her recipe. However, this last weekend, I was completely unsuccessful and ruined and wasted a lot of ingredients. I just don't have the touch. MY opinion... they are worth EVERY penny we charge for them! Lady D
  21. Can anyone give me the name of a supplier for this fragrance? Thanks. Lady Di
  22. Looking for a supplier for chrome wire baskets. I used to buy these at the Dollar Store, but they have quit carrying them. Anyone know where I can buy these? Thanks. -- Lady D
  23. Can you please tell me where you ordered your margarita type egg cartons from? Thanks. Lady D
