  1. Thanks you'll. I agree the patterns are beautiful, shimmering in the light. I really think I like the feather better than starburst. To me the feather works-behaves better than the starburst. Has anyone tried the tortoise shell? Wasn't real crazy about it just from the picture, of course could be lot different in real life.

I am planning on trying the tortoise as soon as they get it back in stock.

FYI: If you do mix with GGLow you may want to go up a wick size. 25% works great. I tried more than that but it did not shrink enough to release from the mold! UGGG!

  2. Here are a couple if pics of the heart pillar burning.

Yellow has very little color added and a CSN 14. I am very happy with this burn.

The fuchsia has alot of dye in it and a CSN 16. I poured another one of these today with alot less dye. I will update on that burn later this week.

  3. Very very pretty! What scent is the pillar? Does it burn all the way/self consume, or does it leave a shell? I've never burned a palm pillar so I'm clueless.

Are you willing to sell one (or two or three) separately? If so, how much?

The pillar is scented lovespell(candlescience). It is super strong! I put it in the bathroom at first and had to move it into the bedroom.

I am going to offer at least 3 scents. These do not totally consume because they are in the "Novelty" category. I will post some picks later tonight of the burn.

The lovespell candle is burning with about 2 to 2 1/2 inch round. I used waaay to much dye in that one so I am going to re-test with less dye. I ordered some dye blocks from CS and used a whole cube! :laugh2: I think it will burn wider if I use the right amount of dye.

These are the scents I am testing:

    Pink Sugar

    Lovespell

    Wine & Roses (custom blend)

Maybe a strawberry type scent. I am going to work on these today.

  4. Very Nice! I love the heart candle..what size is the mold..I don't make pillars...the pic makes it look tall and thick..was just curious how actually big it is. I like the looks of the palm wax am not thrilled with the way it burns in containers..so far too hot for my liking.I will be dbl. wicking..maybe tomorrow to see if that makes a difference!

    Great Job! Kimmeroo

The heart mold holds 1lb. of wax. So it is a fairly large mold.

    Thanks!

  5. I heat my CS Feathered Palm to around 200, add dye and fragrance. I then heat gun my mold(s) and then pour slowly.

I do not cover my candles unless I have to go out for a while. I then cover with a towel so they will cool more slowly so when I get back they are still warm enough to poke my relief holes. But you can do this if you want to anyway, personal preference.

I cool on a wire rack and let cool for a couple of hours and then poke relief holes. I then wait a few more hours and poke a few more holes. Once the candle is completely cool I reheat the leftover wax and repour. Be sure to pour slowly and only on the top. Do not let any leak down where the candle has shrunk.

Once it is cool it should slide out of the mold easily. No additives or mold release are necessary.

I use a CSN 14 or 16 spooled wick. The 14 will give you a more luminary effect. Burns with about 1/2 inch shell.

Check out this thread for pics of my pillars. I use this method with all my pillars.

  6. I keep all my testing on an excel spread sheet. I back it up every month or so. No chance I will lose all that time and money on testing and then not be able to go back and check it!

My advice would be to either get a notebook specifically for you candle testing and put it in a safe place, or enter it on the computer and back it up.

Sorry, can't help you with your wick size.

  7. Hi. I made my first rustic a couple of days ago, actually first paraffin anything!

    I used 1343A

I have a large sample kit of the fil-tec wicks from Early American and put an Xtrim 2.236 in my 3inch pillar. It is a little small but actually not too bad, burning about 1/2 inch shell. I will try a 2.305 next.

  8. I'm not sure how many have had these problems but I contacted CS because 1 out of every 3 of the CSN wicks were pulling out of the tab (very easily) and I also didn't feel they were coated enough. CS said they feel the quality is not up to their standards and are working with their supplier to fix the problems. I found this mostly with CSN 7's as those were the ones I used the most. You might want to email them to see if the issues have been resolved before you buy a bunch.

I was suprised to read this since I have never had this problem.

I contacted CS this morning about this issue with the CSN wicks and it has been handled and will no longer be a problem! So order away! LOL!:grin2:

  9. KY has a Raw Cocoa that smell exactly like cocoa powder. It is B&B safe.

Here is the description I get for Mexican Cocoa:

Mexican Cocoa Since the day we opened the shop customers have been asking for a Mexican cocoa powder. After some research and many nights of trial runs, we are proud to introduce a version of Mexican cocoa. We carefully hand mix our Mexican cocoa from Dutch process cocoa, Ceylon cinnamon and vanilla powder.

You could use Ky Raw Cocoa and mix some vanilla & cinnamon with it. Not sure of a cinnamon vanilla that is B&B safe. Will see if I can find one!

    Update:B&B safe Cinnamon Vanilla
