When she brought it to me, I could still feel some sugar granules in it. She said that she had in the window for about close to ten days (Approximately from the time I gave it to her). So I'm not sure if she was looking for a sugar scrub or cake frosting :/ . I am going to contact some of my other testers and see if they had the same results and where they stored it.

Thanks Dana. Do you feel it's as "appropriate" a candle scent as it is a B&B scent? I've occasionally tried fragrances where I thought, yeah this smells good and throws well and seems like the candle belongs in my shower LOL.

I have their Pink Sugar, Very Sexy for Him, Strawberry Jam, Eucalyptus and Spearmint. They all do very well-- The Pink Sugar does exceptionally well in soy, although I think it could do better in terms of its key notes. But still a good scent Very Sexy for Him is....alluring to say the least. A great FO. Strawberry Jam is great as well; the Eucalyptus Spearmint did great in my 1945, but my testers said that in soy it wasn't that strong. I have their Lilacs in Bloom too-- did great in 1945, but haven't tried it in soy.

Pink Sugar and Cashmere makes a wonderful combo. Depending on where you get the Cashmere, it could be strong, so you may want to double up on the Pink Sugar. I call mine Pink Cashmere (like the Prince song )

I believe it all depends on how you set your cart up. I bought from a supplier who uses Mal's and Paypal, and I went to paypal to use my PayPal balance (LOL obviously).

Mal's does tell you though to you check your PayPal acct for orders as well in the event that the cart does not report sales back to your account (when I say your account, I mean where you log into Mal's to change your configurations).

Yes, you can use PayPal with Mal's. After the customer leaves your site it will go to PayPal's to complete the transaction.

Thanks for responding. Actually-- this tester batch came from the same batch that I personally used as a tester-- and I didn't have this problem at all.

My test batches were in the refrigerator b/c I was going to send them, but decided to pack them when I was packing up north. I left my big jar at home and took another one of my smaller testers (from the refrigerated batch) with me. I have used one of those and it was great.

I'm starting to think its because of the fact that she left it on the window sill for a few days next to her shower before using it. The heat from the sun may have caused it to dissolve. Other than that I can't think of anything else. I wasn't all too crazy about Turbinado which is why I've used regular sugar as well.

What's your preference? I made a new scrub and gave it out to testers and one reported it was milky and could hardly feel any sugar in it. It was a variation of Bohunk's. I know that turbinado is a bit harder, is it possible that the regular sugar I used dissolved? Parting note: I think it might also believe the tester left it in her window sill.

You know I love you What I meant by 1985 ish is that "ScentSations" alone is old and overdone. You have added your own flair to it by adding a distinctive name to it. Personally, if I saw it, I would remember LadyBre more than I would ScentSations (if that makes sense).

Don't change your name, as it is endearing to you-- to me business names capture all of the love and passion you have for it when you first started. So don't dare do a injustice by changing your name. Its not what I think-- or anyone else for that matter; its the quality, look and marketing of your product.

Im with Scented-- it is rather "1985"-ish.

You definitely want a name that stands out if your candles are "premium".

Example:

Consumer A buys your "premium" candle and tells her friend about. Friend says, "Who's it by?" Consumer A says, "I'm not sure something ScentSations". Friend, now turns in to Consumer B and says, "Don't worry, I'll just look it up on the internet." Since most of us carry a lot of the same scents, it would not be hard for Consumer B to miskate another "ScentSations" as your company. Not only are they buying from the wrong company, but this company may not have the quality of candles you do. Consumer B buys candle and it sucks. Now your rep is ruined because of this whole name displacement deal.

You may really love the name-- but if you love it, 100 other people have loved it and got into business before you and have/are using it.

Naming your company is like naming your baby-- they are stuck with it for life, and so is your business, so choose wisely. It is hard (welcome to the business world!), but once you find it, nothing will satisfy you more than to see it on a business card or brochure.

Hope all is well with you. I'm looking for some great B&B recipes for me (shaving cream, after shave balm, tonic, etc). I've done some searching but they seem scarce and stuff that my metro husband wont touch (this is specifically for him).

Also, which Mens scents are big with you? Believe it or not, he's not thrilled about VSFM as I am (I know the horror). However, we do agree that Black Code (by Armani) has to be the sexiest fragrance in the world-- but I cant find a dupe anywhere!

I sent my mom body butter for her to pimp, I mean er, test on her friends and she said everyone raved about it being in a tin. I checked it out once I got back to MD and its not rusted. I wasn't thinking so much for sugar scrubs and stuff like that because of the rust; I did want to have everything look similar, even if I have to put the scrub in a bottle. So I am back to the jars again LOL. I dont know what I want! (Mystical-- time to have a pick out packaging cocktail party!!!)

And the more I think about it the more of a hassle I think it will be to buy jars from one place and pay shipping and do the same for the closures. I don't think I'm that anal.

I am considering changing my packaging, as I do not like the tops on my current jars. I would love to use tins, but wouldn't be able to for the sugar scrub, of course. Does anyone buy closures separately? I am trying to see if buying them separatel is even worth it.

I just saw this thank you! Those are 4 oz low profile jars. I got them from Specialty Bottle. I am not crazy about the tops (the ridges), so I am thinking of changing my packaging.

Scents, I would suggest that you use just buy some of the "cheaper" oils to see if you like the quality of the oils, then you can mortgage your house and buy the others from the Regular line.
