  1. Hope I am not butt in but...I have tested Joy and I get bad wet spots even when I heat the jars. I also used zinc wicks and had no problems just the wet spots.
  2. An alternative would be to use decorative boxes. I use the boxes from Boxco.
  3. I make my tarts by the pound and when I measure I do a little over a half-a-pound of my container wax and then the rest a pillar wax and a tsp of mold release. This way the tarts are firm enough but not to firm and have a great scent cold and hot! So I would use the two wax's you have and already like to make your tarts. Now if I could master candles:sad2:
  4. Has anyone come across a company that sells unique scents?? I have had one request for wasabi and I guess that is a big one with Party Lite and Williams and Sonoma(spelling). I have also had a request for Tomato! Suzanne H
  5. I have tried from JS and Lotion Crafter. Lotion Crafter right out tells you it is IMP. I only tried JS with one scent and didn't get much scent out of it. Lotion Crafter works pretty well but only in small places like a bedroom or bathroom. The reeds are a really big thing around here and I would love to fine one the works really well. It looks like candles and supplies is only $11.99 per pound am I seeing this wrong? Has anyone tried any others? Suzanne H
  6. I get mine from Lotioncrafter.com. I really like it especially for dry hair serum but I haven't tried anyone else.
  7. I haven't seen any clear waterproof labels. I tried some decoupage(spelling?) spray last night and I will test today and see how that will work. I also ordered samples from onlinelables.com I just wish they didn't have such a high minimum. I seem to be have a hard time mastering anything!
  8. I know this is a big dilemma for everyone! I had been using the crystal clear labels from label by the sheet and just double labeling to make them waterproof. Well after I have sold a lot of shower gels and shampoos I made a few to take with us on vacation. Not 2 days later and the labels fell off the bottles!! Now I have noticed they are peeling off my other bottles as well even without water. I assume it is because after I double them up they are to heavy. I also tried spaying them but it leaves a bumpy texture and doesn't always work. Has anyone mastered this yet??? It is sooooooo frustrating. I looked into getting a laser printer which I have heard works awesome but it is a $400.00 investment. Suzanne H
  9. I did a Embedded photo yesterday and that was a lot of fun. Even though I used a wax that was the wrong melt point. Whoops! I always find this stuff out afterwords~I am going to try one of these layered candles today! I am usually pretty good with the search on here. I just didn't seem to find any thing on this specific question. Maybe I didn't search the right key words. Thanks for all you relies and I will defiantly let you know how the 70/30 works with the layers. Suzanne H
  10. No one has made layered Container candles?
  11. I was wondering if I can use this wax for votive? It seems there is different was for pillar and votive but what is really the difference?
  12. So the wrong wax, darn it. I thought for sure I read on hear to by this wax. Well I did want to try those picture hurricanes and with how shinny this wax is I could try those. Thanks for taking the time to help I really appreciate it. Suzanne H
  13. I am using Peaks IgI 4624. I melted to about 190 is when all the wax was melted and added my color and Fo and thats it no other additives. Then I poured at 160 but poured down the sides first then placed it in a water bath. it seems to have caved a lot on the second pour as well. It smells really good though!
  14. I am going to make a layer candle using greenleaf 70/30. But if I pour it in a cold container I get wet spots. So if I already have 1 or 2 layers in the jar how do you only warm the jar and not the wax to pour the next layer? I hope I am making sense. Thanks Suzanne H
  15. Thank you so much! At least now I know a little about what I am doing. I just melted my candle down again and re did it. It turned out better this time but no rustic on it!
  16. I just made my first pillar. It honestly turned out pretty ugly! As I was making it I didn't know how many times or how often I need to poke relief holes. What is the norm on this??? The directions just said poke several times. Thanks Everyone Suzanne H
  17. That is a hard one. To me watermelon the actual fruit smells very light but candy more packs a punch. When I was pouring it, it smelled kinda like watermelon jello. I should be getting my watermelon from wicks-end end by Friday and am going to compare the two. I could let you know. Suzanne H
  18. I just had this happen to me but I have ordered a lot of big bottles after the samples and this is the first time. It is disappointing. I loved the scent in the sample! Suzanne H
  19. I am going to try the 4625 as well, but I am completely lost as to what kind of wick to start with. Any help would be appreciated! Suzanne H I just ordered the kit from Peaks!

  25. Well I am close to running out of my tart containers so in started researching. It seems Mill Creek has the biggest ones out there and that counts more then it being difficult to close to me. I am going to hope I got a bad batch and try them again. Thanks for letting me know.
