  1. Jason from GB feels that a composition of 90-95% soy wax, and 5-10% universal soy additive, increases max FO retention to about 20% total, for the wax. Now, having said this, and, assuming it's true (and I did verify with him we were talking about a 20% total load, as opposed to INCREASING BY 20%), my questions are two-fold:

1-Would this much USA have the same effect as adding too much Vybar, which binds the oil and actually weakens a wax's hot throw?

2-Would adding this much USA change the wax's properties, such as melt point, etc?

  2. Votives, inside holders, can't be too expensive to make, considering they don't hold much wax, or FO. How about giving them away, free with purchases, of "x" dollars or more, as kind of a way for your customer to sample another of your scents?

I know there are already companies doing this with the 1 or 2 ounce tins, but, it's a thought. A nice, pretty votive, free with purchases of $50 or more.

  3. I hope I didn't start this....I just wanted opinions on diff. soy wax :o as to who likes what the best...you know' date=' like I prefer a chocalate shake compared to vanilla, why, because it's more tasty. I wasn't trying to cheat.:([/quote']

You didn't start this. Candlewitch, and her desire to feel important, by having people ASK her what this new great soy that was coming out, started this.

  4. By the way, in the PM's, you weren't exactly "nice." What you said was that you would provide information if I stood up for you in the other threads that you were being attacked (in the business forum), and, in looking at those threads, I can't really stand up for you (for obvious reasons), so, I'm going to pass on the information, but thanks anyway.

  5. If that tires you, how would you ever learn anything that takes some reading? He was trying to explain something to you by telling you in his prior work as a manager that some things are not handed out but you are giving enough information to lead you to the answer. Simple. I was nice in the Pms and honest and then you didnt like that so I cant help you now.

LOL. Oh nooooooooo.......Say it aint so.........Please, Please, Please........I was tired of reading it cause it was preachy and had nothing to do with what I, or anyone else, was asking. As for your "help" you didn't help me, or anyone else anyway, so, what is the difference?

Some people just like to feel important and, if keeping a "secret" makes you feel important, I'm all for it.

Although, I do thank you for the tip on my ability to learn, although I've done alright for myself so far in life.

  6. Not a bunch of code....just a group of people who for one enjoy each other and like to have some fun. Secondly, everyone who has been here for a long time has done there own testing and research and learned by experience. I have not been at candles for that long, but I have been a manager for years and it does not benefit my employees to always give them the answer when they ask...in the end it cripples them. It is my job to teach people how to find answers for themselves by asking them questions to help lead them to the answer. Sometimes I give the answer, but a lot of times with a little bit of guidance, they come to the answer on their own. Then they feel good because they figured it out and it gives them the courage to search out future answers instead of coming to me. As chandler's, we will never truly get anywhere and succeed on our own if we always have someone giving us all of the answers. If we did, our mentors would handicap us, teaching us not to think, and teaching us to be dependent.

Now I'm sure I'm going to get jumped for all of that, but that's ok. There is someone on the board that when I have questions, I get a straight answer and at times it's great. There are other times where the answer is a little vague, but I can see that this member is encouraging me to get my feet wet....ya know, put the carrot in front of the horses nose and watch them take off on their own to figure it out.

    *stepping off soap box*

    Have a great night....

    C

Not sure what on earth ANY of that has ANYTHING to do with ANY of what I said, however, I'm pretty tired just from reading it. :wink2:

  7. By the way, if you don't want to try the Low Smoke Zincs, you might give the Premiers a second chance (or ask them about their 600 series, which is more specifically for paraffin, where the 700 Premiers are more geared towards soy). I say that because, there isn't a wick type out there with THIS many options in terms of sizes. You MUST be able to find something that will work, at least in terms of size.
