I use 1/2 tsp for my entire batch (2.5 lbs) without any chalkiness. I did make some once with TD that was crumbly a long time ago but I don't remember how much I used. I have been using 1/2 tsp for a while with no problems.

I used WSP's version and it discolored to light tan. YMMV depending on your supplier.

It will be interesting to see the final discoloration. Some Pink Sugars discolor more than others. I have FOH's Pink Sugar and it only discolors to tan in CP soap. BCN has a pink sugar post in their CP section that discolored tan but I don't know if that was the final color. SW's Pink Sugar discolors really dark in CP but smells the most complex out of all that I have sniffed/used.

Most (if not all) of the scents are from Enchanted Lites. Some throw great in 100% soy,some dont. Soy based just means the carrier oil.

Yogurt is really nice in soap. I usually add 1 TBL per pound of oils of the plain, unflavored variety. It feels oh so luxurious! I made my own yogurt once. Surprisingly, it turned out really nice. FNWL also sells yogurt powder.

I don't get an upset stomach but sometimes I get headaches when working with lots of scents.

I just received a sample of FOH's Lotus Blossom. It is very nice OOB.

AJ - No Way! (This is Jen - FF&P BTW). I smell the same as you oob but I thought - hey - what the heck - I'll see what it does in wax. Nope - still smells like pickles. I told Lisajo and she didn't believe me...but sent me a couple of different fos that she uses in soy...JBN Hawaiian Sandalwood and WSP Sandalwood incense. I put the JBN (which she says smells just like TW's) in wax but have not burned it...gave it to a tester and won't know for a bit. Would you like to try some? I can pop it in the mail...

I can't comment on the suppliers you guys mentioned but, The Candlemakers Store has a SUPER strong leather (100% soy)! You need very, very little. It also works wonderful in CP soap.

I've been testing some of their scents. So far I've had great success in 100% soy with Hawaiian Sandalwood and Ginger Bergamot. I look forward to testing the rest. Yes, they are super strong too! (Sniffing gave me a headache.)

if a recipe calls for a 6% lye dicount and U only do 5% what would happen to the soap? IS it harsher?

You can adjust your super fat higher or lower. A higher superfatted soap can be softer, longer and more prone to DOS (dreaded orange spots). A lower superfatted soap works better for oily skin and is not so good for dry skin (IMHO).

I add all of my oils at the same time. I don't worry about adding an oil at trace. Lye doesn't care when you add the oil. It saponifies as it sees fit.
