i get my from peaks as well, closest to me, Shipping from Denver to Omaha NE, plus prices are good when buy 101+ -
i package mine in a cello bag tied at the top, either 4 votives in a votive holder, or indiviually, also in a single cello bag tied at the top. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44389&highlight=votive hope that gives you an idea Alex

some votives and mini-melts
kenziescandles replied to kenziescandles's topic in Old Style Candle Gallery
thank you for all the kind comments, do the tilted layers on the votives, i use a votive strip that has six molds welded to it, I'm able to prop one end of the stip up on a 3x6 pillar mold. works great, i pour the first layer at around 170-175, then pour the second layer at around 185 once the first layer has set up, i've found that it does help hit the mold w/ a heat gun quickly before doing the second layer. I got the votive strip from candlechem off of ebay. -
just some stuff i've been working on... blueberry cheesecake votives, same votives packaged, blueberry cheesecake mini wax melts, black raspberry vanilla mini melts, and some pumpkin pie votives. Would love to hear everyone's opinions on the labels, they are something i've been playing w/. There are three mini melts per package and combined weigh about 1 and 1/8th ounce combined. Thanks for looking, Alex

playing around, pouring some overstock fo's
kenziescandles replied to kenziescandles's topic in Old Style Candle Gallery
the votives are packaged in a 6x6 bag, and they are pretty loose side to side, they do get beat up pretty bad, or mark the bag itself, i'm going to a 5x8 bag soon that fits side by side, and the top can be bunched and tied, hopefully that will cut down on the scaring and marking. thanks to all for the comments, this board has been such a help and inspiration! -
votives in the back - six packs, mountain lake and pineapple rest are 4 packs of voties in downy, moonlight path, pearberry, monkey farts, and creme brulee, each pack contains a votive holder as well. I'm gunna be trying out some new packaging for the votives, something that holds them tighter, that way they don't "scar" as easy. tins, mountain lake, kiwi melon, pine jars are pineapple and candy cane, pineapple was a holdover from summer, the pine and candycane did good over the holidays, but not as well as i had anticipated, so had quite a bit of fo left over. enjoy, and thanks for looking, alex

"JUST SOME PALMS"?????????? WOW, those are really beautiful! :highfive:
-
so i tried the meatballer method, and failed over and over again, getting one good one to every three cracked or split bomb, was at a garage sale over the summer and bought these tart molds, and they work great! i use the under side of my mesuring cup to level the small ones and round out the tops of the heart shaped ones. The Pink Sugar is from The Candle Source and my wife says it's a dead on dupe.... thanks for looking!

i got the cracks when i stuck it in the freezer after about an hour w/ relief holes, then proptly forgot about it until the next morning, took it out of the freezer let it warm up to room temp, stuck a skewer down the relief holes, did my repour, and thats what it came out like, when i burn it it will be in a 16 oz jar in case it does crack. I'm hoping the the wax from the repour will hold it together.... fingers crossed thanks all for the complimets!

been real busy as of late, not much time for anything other than work and family, had some time, some 1443 and new FO's from BCN, left pillar is pumpkin pie, middle is storm watch, and did my first rustic that i was satisfied with scented pumpkin spice. The votives are Christmas Tree. Thanks for looking!

Hi I have a lady wanting to get rid of some oils she bought but doens't have the time to make candles. I asked her where she got them from and she said she got them from this website http://www.bloomworksoaps.com/ Was wondering if anyone has used them and if so what did you think? Since they are free from this lady probably gonna get them anyway but figured I would ask about them anyway.

packaging & curing question
kenziescandles replied to kenziescandles's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
thanks for the responses, bruce, after reading yours, i emailed the candle source asking about what the material was, this was the response, i hope he's right! They are a Polly zip Lock bag.... we store All of our Tarts and our Votives and have never had any problem with the fragrance at all.... -
i hope this isnt a silly question, but how soon after un molding votives and tarts can i package them? the Tarts and votives are going to be packaged in zip lock bags from The Candle Source, four votives and a votive holder to a pack, and four tarts to a pack. I understand the need for curing, but can the items cure in the package would it be best to have them in a tote for the curing period? Thanks in advance for any advice! Alex
