  1. Thanks for the tip, I was leary of trying it, but I will give it a shot.
  2. I have been having difficulty finding a deep brown color for my soy flakes, everything seems to be too light. Does anyone know where to find, or how to make, a very deep/dark chocolate brown? Thanks,
  3. Some of my candles have been turning yellow. All on them had no color added, and I believe were done with CB Advanced. Is this a result of the sun which can be taken care of with additives, or is this something else? I didn't use any additives when making these candles.
  4. I was wondering if there needed to be any special coating for the warning sticker on the bottom of tins since they can get hotter than glass. Wondered if anybody had heard of this or had any insight. Thanks,
  5. Where has everyone purchased their scales? Is it necessary to have two? One for was, and a smaller one for FO? I'm not sure where to start and I don't want to pay $50 for the wrong one. Thanks in advance for any help people are able to give.
  6. Forget that, I found the abbreviations list. I'm a little slow with this.
  7. I'm using the EcoSoya 135, with FO from Bitter Creek, no additives.
  8. I was looking in the archive, but couldn't seem to bring anything up on the subject of air bubbles. In some of my larger candles (container) I will get fairly large bubbles and air pockets. Is there something that can be done about it. On a somewhat side note, when doing a second pour, how long do people usually wait? Thanks in advance for any help people are able to offer, I just love this place and the people are incredibly helpful!
  9. Very interested, that's a great thing you are doing.

  11. I was wondering where a good place to purchase 2.5 oz votive containers for my soy. I have found a couple different places with competitive prices, fairway glass being the most attractive. Are there any better places out there. I'm located in MN. Thanks for any help I may get.
  12. Thanks for the helpful input, I tried burning them last night and had a very good performance, these really seem quite good.
  13. Has anyone tried the wickit series 700 wicks? I just got their samples and will let everyone know how they work for me in my 100% soy. I'm wondering how they will compare to the cd wicks. Let me know if anyone has used them and how they have worked for you. Thanks,
  14. Do you happen to have the brand and name of the specific turkey fryer that you are using? Thanks:)
  15. Thanks for the good advice, I figured it really wasn't worth it for me.
  16. I am new to making candles and would like to expand my capacity and was wondering about the wax heaters that are available. Right now I just use the presto pot and that seems to work pretty well. Can anybody tell me the if there are any advantages to the large wax heater beyond the ability to just make more, it seems like a pretty large price hike. In addition, I have seen the gun, which looks handy, but is also very expensive. I only make soy if that makes any difference. Thanks for any info anyone may be able to provide.
  17. Thanks for all your help, this is a great starting point.
  18. I have been using the EcoSoya 135 and was wondering if anybody knew where the best place to get scents for soy is. I have had some luck with certain scents but poor with others, I'm just looking for a good soy scent supplier. Thanks,
