  1. I've also been asked to refill various containers. I don't want to do it because of the wicked wick testing. But, many of you have brought up safety issues as well. I'm curious to know - what specifically could go wrong and why? Also, do you refill your own jars that you have already tested? Thanks!
  2. Good for you, mom of 6! I am a mom of 3 and babysit my niece, so it is hard for me to find the time as well. Many late nights. It's funny how we can be unsure about trying new things. I guess it's all what you started with. I started with pillars and I am uncertain about trying tarts and containers. The trial and error/ testing period can be tiresome. But pillars are beautiful and fun to make. Everytime you take one out of the mold, it's like Christmas morning. (Well, almost every time - lol!) I say go for it and try it. Since you are not planning on selling them, you can just burn them and perfect the art as you go. SalGal
  3. Thank you! I'll check that out.
  4. I have done a search, but cannot find a scent called herbal garden. A friend of mine just burned up her favorite candle with a scent by that name. Does anyone have any idea where I could find that scent or anything close? I have not yet had the opportunity to smell it for myself. Her candle was made by wicks and sticks. Thanks for any direction you can provide.
  5. Lovely site! Lovely candles! Makes me wish I needed a few more candles around here LOL! If I were actually shopping on it, I'd be curious to know what color goes with each scent (or are they all white?) They are beautiful! Nice labels!
  6. Hi Maureen! I'm fairly new here, too. My husband got me two presto pots for Christmas and I don't know how I lived without them before. They are so much safer and easier than the method I was using. My husband also got the spigots and said he would drill the pots for me, but I'm happy with the way they are. It is great to have more than one, because you can do a couple of different colors/scents at once. I use a small lightweight saucepan to dip the wax from the presto and put it in my pouring pot. I have to pour the remaining wax back into the presto to maintain desired temp, but that's no big deal. I don't know if you are using molds, but if you are the other "can't live without" discovery for me has been the mold sealer. I was taught the ol' tape and magnets method and was having a LOT of leaks. Have fun. I've been making cp soaps for years, but when a friend wanted to be done with candles, she sold me all her stuff and gave me some lessons. I learned a lot from her, but much more from books, and much, much more right here. Keep reading and have fun! Candle making can be addictive and leads to many late nights! Sara
  7. I really think "English Garden" is a perfect name for it.
  8. Sweetcakes Zenith (that's where I get my soap makin' stuff) and Peaks (just tried it for the first time after reading about it here on this forum. The prices are nice and the black raspberry vanilla and asian sandlewood are really nice scents) Sara
  9. I am living in the 4 corners area and looking for a place within driving distance where I can buy bulk wax and other candle making supplies. Phoenix or Albuqurque are within the realm of possiblity. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Any help would be much appreciated!
