Have you looked locally? I found mine at the grocery store.

I like fragrance oils better, because I love florals. Plus, I'm cheap. In EOs, I do like Lavandin Grosso (like Lavender), and Sweet Orange.
-
Oh, I forgot -- if you're doing HP, try adding the superfat oil after cooking, not at trace.
-
The oils look fine to me. I really don't know any reason why they'd be drying.
For several years, I always did HP, but switched to CP when I realized the HP batches needed time to dry out (maybe even longer than CP had to cure, and CP seemed drier quicker). I didn't cure my CP very long. In a pinch, I would ship out soap (I had a business) after curing only a week. I do discount my water, however.
Have you tried adding your 7% superfat oil at trace, rather than putting it in with the other oils? That's how I've always done it, but I use 6% superfat. My soaps have always been less drying than store bought soaps.

I've used a good many and have been very pleased with them!
Cucumber Melon (more Cucumber than melon, I thought)
Mango
Peach Magnolia Raspberry (loses a little of the fruitiness in CP, so I use 1/2 PMR and half Mango--It was my 2nd bestseller)
Tutti Fruitti - good in MP, but NOT good in CP
Sandalwood
Sugar Cookie
Eggnog
Honeysuckle (very strong, but I don't like the scent)
I had no accelerations or seizing with any of them, but I hand-stir all my FOs in rather than stickblending.
Also, only Tutti Fruitti, Eggnog, and Sugar Cookie discolored.
Their scents are absolutely as strong as other reputable suppliers, I think.
Really, I love Alabaster. I'm not sure why they're not more popular. Their prices are great.

Marisa,
Have you used ICS' in CP soap?
Thanks
-
I'd love to see a picture. That sounds awful!
Do you know if the vanilla stabilizer works in CP?
-
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences! I strongly dislike brown soap, but my Vanilla soap that's brown sells okay.
I guess since it will probably turn MP brown, I might as well go ahead and do CP with it. Almost all my soaps are CP.
-
I was thinking that if I used Pink Sugar (ICS) in clear MP soap it might not turn as brown as it does in CP. Is that true? Thanks for any help!
-
Right. You'll lose your scent. Sorry!

I use a lot of their FO's in CP soap. I've had great luck with them. Even the ones that are super cheap!!

No, actually polyethylene and polypropylene are different. Polyethylene is what regular ziplocs are made of. They will not hold your scent in. Learned that the hard way by using them for bath salts and soap samples. After a while all the scent is gone.
Polypropylene and cello do hold in scent. I get my polypropylene bags from Veripack.com. They have a huge selection.

I use Lavendin Grosso. $10.70 a pound at Royal Aromatics! And it smells really good.
-
Blue food color will give it to you. Depending on how much you use you will get a range from pink to deep purple.
What you see when you add it to traced soap will not be what you end up with. If you have a deep blue, it should morph to deep purple after gel.

I love www.citymax.com! Does everything you could possibly want and you can be up and running in a couple hours if you have your pictures ready.
-
I got a sample of the Jelly BEan from them. I only used it in lotion, but I really didn't like it. It does smell like a jelly bean, though!
-
I get mine from Royal Aromatics. They have the lowest prices I've ever seen, but there's a $50 minimum and I think they only sell pounds.

Hi,
Hope I can help! since cutting them 1" thick gives you about 3 oz, try cutting them 1 1/2" thick. That should give you around 4.5 oz.

Plus, where I live, we have to pay property tax on our inventory.

You can do it however you would like to. I would charge more to do private label. And actually, I won't do private label, because it's just too much trouble for me.
I do, however, allow my wholesale customers to use their own labels if they like and I will give a .25 per item discount for that. I hate labelling, so I really like that arrangement.

I use oxides for green. You can get a nice, affordable set from www.cosmeticformulator.com

Hi Jennifer,
All my business is done from my website and I've struggled with the shipping question myself.
My opinion is that if you use that method, you will lose many sales. People order things online by impulse. They need to pay immediately or many of them will change their mind. I think you're better off to make it as easy as possible for them to pay you right away.
Figure out your shipping estimates and let them pay that. When they pay notify them that the shipping is an estimate and if it is more than the estimate shows you will email them. They can then pay you the difference with Paypal or you can charge their card. I wouldn't charge their card more without their permission, though.
I also think you should accept credit cards, not just Paypal. my motto is Make it easy for them to order from you!

I have a full money back guarantee for any reason.

Jennie,
Have you contacted the company directly for your refund? I think you should if not! Tell them exactly how rude their rep was. There's no excuse for that.

I"m not sure what would happen. I'm about the cheapest soaper around, and even I wouldn't use rancid oils because if it made the soaps go rancid it would waste a lot more money than throwing away that coconut oil.
