  1. The Candle Source has one called Twilight. I like it but haven't smelled the original to compare.
  2. they're beautiful! I love them! And I love the royal thing!
  3. I know what you mean! It is terrifying, but so necessary.
  4. They are lovely! I've been too scared to try them. Do you find that they are lucrative enough to justify the extra time spent making them? Or do you get really fast with practice?
  5. I used pots, but I just poured from a Pyrex measuring cup with a spout. Have you tried that? I didn't like droppers, the balm got too cold, it seemed.
  6. That's your first loaf?! OMgosh! It's lovely!!
  7. When I used to make them I was very happy with Bitter Creek's flavor oils. I also used their base and loved it and so did my customers.
  8. This is my third time to give the soap biz a go and this time I picked one company and bought most of my FOs from there. Then I bought a couple more from a place I'm buying almost all my other supplies from. So I only have 2 FO suppliers this time. It's not too exciting, but in the long run I think it will be most profitable. To me, it's more exciting to see profits in the bank than to see FOs in the cabinet. On the other hand, if money isn't your bottom line and you're having fun, why not? I don't have a lot of spare money to blow, though, so I can't do that.
  9. I'm pretty new to M&P too. After doing CP for years, it seems like the 1 T per pound of MP is working well for me. I opened a bunch of wrapped soap the other day to re-wrap it and it seemed the MP was more strongly scented than the CP, even though I use 1 oz ppo in CP. I would be interested to know if it's safe to add more than 1 T. I asked a while back on some forum and it seemed no one used more than that.
  10. The Candle Source is $1.49 each.
  11. I've gotten it locally, too. The company was listed in the phone book under Chemicals - Scientific and Technical. :rolleyes2 That was a long time ago! Back when I used phone books! Mine was a little more $77 for 50#. I can also get lye at my local grocery store for $2.70 (including tax).
  12. HI and welcome. Also a soapmaker. This board is really nice. Love it.
  13. Nothing special? Ha! It's gorgeous, girl!
  14. Thanks, Scented. For some reason, the M&P is kind of fun at the moment. I think I like the immediacy of it. Not that my artistry is anything special!
  15. Nevermind. I'm going to stick with Bitter Creek, even though it's more expensive. It's really good, so why mess with it?
  16. The Bitter Creek lotion base is great. I love it and it's $18.95 or $16.95 if you buy 4 gallons.
  17. Anyone tried it? Is it any good? It has good reviews on their site, but don't know if that can be trusted. Thanks!
  18. I probably didn't ask the question very clearly! Apparently. Maybe it's a dumb question, but I saw some FOs on clearance that sounded good, but only come in a pound size, so I was thinking that if they didn't work in CP I could use them in MP.
