Guys
Whenever I make white candles (Paraffin wax) and i add any fragrance oil to it I have noticed they turn yellowish after some time.
In fact sometimes as soon as they dry.Even tho i add white color and UV inhibitor they still turn yellowish
And if I make them without FO they don't turn yellow tho they don't stay pure white either
Any ideas on how to make white candles with FO that will stay white...am sure there is some trick/product out there as i have seen white paraffin candles with FO
Thanks in advance to all the guys who make the effort to help newbies like myself
I am not thinking that is because the fragrance oil has Vanillin content. Vanillin causes it to discolor. It is the same with soaps as well. In fact reading up on soap making is were i picked this info up at. You would most likely need a Fragrance with a 0% vanillin content to keep the candle white.

Those are all some beautiful pictures. I envy people with artistic talent. I can't draw to save my life. Heck i can even make stick people look horrible.

Here is some of the tarts i made today. I poured 4 different molds but am gonna wait till tomorrow to unmold the last one cause they tend to break on me and i wanna see if letting them sit overnight helps that. I will post a pic of those tomorrow. These are scented strawberry kiwi. Wanted a darker green but it still turned out nice. Sadly one hummingbird will now have to go hungry as the beak broke when removing them. Was likes to stick to the mold for some reason.
About 30 min after pouring.
butterflies removed from mold.
Hummingbird with baby roses removed from mold.
Roses removed from mold.

I would hope so. I am pretty sure for what you mentioned that is overkill but hey if it only cost you 5$ a month that is great.

I would think 2 gigs should fine for stuff like that. Sadly you wont really know till you start using it and can get an idea on how much you actually use in a month.

those are some nice labels. I think neutralizer sounds better personally. As far as my favorite label I like the orange one myself.

That mainly depends on what you plan to do on your laptop. If you plan to just use it for web searches or reading forums you wouldn't need a massive amount. If you wanna be able run videos or anything more than normal website reading you will need a decent amount. For just basic usage i wouldn't think you would need more than a 1-2 gigs. If you wanna be able to view videos and all i would think 2+ gigs. But alot of this depends on how long you would plan to have it on the internet at a given time. If you are just popping on once in a while to look at stuff and don't plan to leave the pc constantly connect to the hot spot using bandwidth you can probably get by with less data. Again it mainly depends on your type of usage and length of time you are using the actual hot spot. Sorry I can't be a bit more specific than this. personally i have not used a cells wireless hotspot. and atm my phone isn't even able to use the internet. Hopefully this will help just a bit.

If I was to make a fragrance journal I would include the following sections. Fragrance name, how much i used, cold/hot throw, info on if it was a blend of fragrances, if i needed to wick up/down due to the fragrance, and if the fragrance morphed in anyway after adding it to the wax.. I would put all this info into a sort of spreadsheet that i could just fill in the spots needed with the corresponding information. This info would all be handy in case you ran across a fragrance later that you thought you had tried. It would make it so you might not repurchase scents that did not work for you by accident. As well as giving you a good way to find the fragrances that worked best in your testing as well.

Candlewic 129 is a great wax for melts. I also like 4625/4630 blend . I noticed the other day Candles& Supplies has a tart blend ,never tried this one . I was thinking about placing a order for 10 lbs ,just to see what kind of results I get .I noticed some oils I would like to try from them as well.
If you do order some of that wax to test let me know how well it works..

She only gets to help with the M&P - she's still a bit young to work much with the lye soaps, but she loves to be a part of it somehow.
I made 1 case of container candles, and 5 loaves of soap today. Didn't take pics of 2 of them, and the other one, well those pics are still on my iPad that I left down in my lab and was too tired/lazy to go back down there to get it to post the pic. LOL
Hey even helping with m&p is still nice. That is alot of stuff to be making in a day. lol the most i have made was 3-5 test candles and that was time consuming since i was using a double boiler at that point.

Nice looking soaps. I actually really like the the look of the bollywood one. It is great to have a helper when working on stuff like that.

Palm does burn differently it will burn down before it starts to really burn out to the edges. How far down have you let the candles burn? The after a few burns the candle should start to burn closer to the edges each burn tends to make the outer shell a bit thinner as the candle burns down.. This has been my experience with my container candles and palm wax so far atleast.

You could try a spritz of candle release spray.
Not sure what wax you use, but sometimes pouring too hot makes my waxes sticky. Or perhaps a little stearic. Hard of say without knowing what you’re working with.
I am using palm wax. gotta pout hot. Part of the problem might of been i forgot to wash the molds before use. Will be remelting and pour sometime today to see. I have another mold from the same place that worked perfectly with my was. Tho i think i washed that one before i poured wax into it. hopefully after having washed the molds the wax releases better this time.

I will let you know on the Strawberry jam ,picked up a 8 oz bottle ,not tried yet ,excited to get this one thou. Love Jelly donut ,soooo yummy
Moonstar is correct , you can actually smell the powdered sugar dust. I love the strawberry filling aroma it throws as well. The Jelly donut is so far the absolute best I have ever tried from WSP. I use a paraffin wax blend & throw is AMAZING . Lol of course I have not tried ALL of their fragrances ,that would come with a huge price tag for one of each lol... I try to go by reviews ,however have tried a few that had not so good reviews & loved the scents .I also have tried some with great reviews & no go in my wax . I want more & more & way to many more lol.
I will send you a sample of Jelly donut ,I have plenty .This one is a must try 😉
I have your address from the Fairy Garden sample a while back . Oh yea I will add the Victoria Christmas sample from FB I promised you a while ago too .
I had actually forgotten about victorian chrismas sample. I have a terrible memory lol. It is almost like the memory of someone atleast 2.5 times my age.

I got my new molds yesterday and had a bit of issue with wax sticking to the mold. I got 3 molds 2 of which i was able to get a few tarts out of it unbroken the other one they all broke. I cleaned the molds yesterday and will remelt and pour the wax again to see if it works better. Here is an image of the 2 that came out of the molds without breaking. one is a hummingbird with a flower underneath the other is a butterfly. My color choice for dye did not work like i wanted it to. tried for an orange with a hint of brown color since i use carrot cake scent that i got to test, but I used to much brown sadly.

if i catch the 35% sale i might break down and but a few to try at that point depending on how much of my oil samples i have left by then.

I am proud of myself. i have talked myself out of ordering more oils during the last few sales..

personally i would not do it especially because of the concentrated fragrances. I would even be leery of doing it with a respirator on. I just feel it isn't worth the chance of causing an unborn baby issues. I imagine tho there will be some people on here that can give better info on this.
