  1. I fought with the veggie peeler to sharpen mine. Wasnt too hard just took forever and I hate that stupid "tool". I never was able to get a real pretty point but it turned out sufficient!
  2. I have seen it suggested that you can cover with clear packing tape or spray a thin layer of clear spray paint to seal the ink. HTH.
  3. I used some colors I got from WSP but all I could get were pastels.... hoping my new colors I got from Terri might give me bolder colors. No problems with staining the tub, but a problem with one little boy that wouldnt let his "crayon" go and just carried it around all day sniffing it! lol (was scented JS Bazooka Bubble Gum) The worst part of making these is sharpening them... my hands were so sore the next day! lol
  4. I too used to be a demonstrator for them and then a retailer when I finally opened my shop. They are great candles, with excellent scent throw both hot and cold, but when they did their revamping, increased pricing and got the new ceo I knew I was done. I am down to my last 3 cases of them and will be glad to be done with them. I found other companies that are small business that have just as great a candle without the exhorbant pricing!! One right here on these boards <wavin to TS!!>
  5. I used the tube ice cube trays from walmart. The ones that are made to make sports bottle ice cubes... I think it ran about $1.50 or so for the tray. As for colors I dont know this answer but someone will!!
  6. I never read anything about melting it either, but no place says not to either, so I tried it... heck what is the worst that can happen, you throw it in the trash pile with other miserable failures and chalk it up to learning! I tried it with just a lb so not to waste all my testing/playing materials! I will try it again this week to see if I can repeat the same consistancy...
  7. After reading this yesterday I got the itch to try again. I did as some had suggested and melted added more oil and H2O and beat even longer than before. This consistency came out really smooth and I got a ton more lather than previously! I put it into one of the bottles I bought on the board with a disp cap and 24 hours later its stayed exactly the same and comes out wonderfully. Crossing my fingers it stays for another day. I did take part of the batch and poured a TON of sugar in and made it into a paste (almost) consistency and my daughter came and snagged it before I even got it to my bathroom... she has used half of what I brought home already! She said it lathered great and she loves scrubs when she comes in from work. She says this one is much easier to use since its so thick. Deffinitely has to stay in a jar not a malibu. Scented it with the new JS oil lemon magnolia... I am in heaven! Great scent! And one that hubby wont be trying so its mine all mine.. if I can keep my daughter out of my bathroom!
  8. I have tried it twice now and it sets up really hard compared to how it was originally. I have noticed oils seperate too even after whipping the heck out of it... I figure I must be doing something wrong! Hopefully someone has some ideas!
  9. Beautiful soaps!!! I bet the Monoi is fabulous!! <I love the stuff!> I got one of those molds the other day and havent tried it yet... guess I need to break it out!!
  10. These are absolutely gorgeous bars!
  11. The mousse didnt contain any butters so its real light and fluffy. Like hair mousse is. I used almost 3oz of Monoi in the entire 40oz batch and it smells the same as the straight Monoi from the bottle... no scent fade at all.
  12. I think its a bath bomb revolt.. they are tired of us trying to squish them into tiny balls! lol
  13. I have decided bath bombs should be mixed then instead of fighting the meatballer just splat them on the table... my results would look the same! ROFLMBO! That mousse was surprisingly easy. If my NEW stand mixer from Walmart worked it would have been easier!
  14. Bath Bombs are horrible! lol I tried one formula but it wasn't a smooth ball. Thats picture 1. So I tried a different formula and omh the balls were beautiful! Smooth round and so pretty. I sat them on saran wrap to dry and I swear something went crazy! They went from balls to cookies! But they sure do smell good! Look like heck but smell awesome! Picture 0 Then I decided since I had the Monoi I needed to try something with it so I made a body mousse without fragrance... no need when you have Monoi! Surprisingly enough that worked wonderfully... but I am waiting for the gremlins to come do something to it too! picture 4 Bath bombs=torture!
