  1. I've never actually seen, touched or smelled any Lush products myself. My only experience has been the vendor's dupes, it seems like Nurture has an extensive collection and from what I gather their dupes are really close. I've tried a bunch, mostly I haven't been impressed except for Olive Branch, that is so understated and sexy in B&B, it's my go-to when I want to smell good but not perfumed. And of course this Supernova that my daughter is nutso over, lol.

  2. I am looking for a good dupe of Lush's Supernova. I purchased one from Nurture that my oldest daughter adores, and I'm running low... But I don't order anything else from them and I'm kind of choking on the price. I found it at FB and Indigo, but again, the price!! I also found it at Flaming for a good value...but I'm not wowed by any of their other FO's and I hate to pay shipping for just one thing. Lord, I'm cheap, lol.

Is there maybe a vendor that has it under another name to be sneaky?

or are there any must-haves from Flaming that I can add to my cart? I'm not much for the bakery scents, I was looking at their Golden Rum and their Woodland Path if anyone has tried those.

    Thank you!

  3. Oh, forgot to say I use CBL-125 paraffin with a touch of soy as my wax, and FO load at 8%, HT is great considering it's a tiny 4oz jelly jar.

And I CP soap with about 30% tallow, 20% coconut, rest in liquid oils, and I'm impatient so I soap kind of hot, lol.

So reviews are based on that. :)

I was looking at NG Crackling Birch. If anyone has used that would you consider that a Christmas scent ? When I was reading the reviews I got the impression that its

more of a masculine, cologne scent ?

    OMG I love that FO!

It doesn't say "Christmas" to me, it's more of a fall scent IMO. It is a rich cinnamon-y spicy woody fragrance with a hint of musk. Amazing throw in wax, soaps like a dream, just a bit of DC that's so easy to incorporate into the design... Super sexy in body butter. I have a girlfriend whose husband requests this for her, he loves the way she smells when she uses it, lol.

I think you could make it work as a holiday scent if you played up the spice and the woods.

Well I don't use 464 but cedar garland is wonderful and nutmeg ginger is the Bomb in making your own pumpkin and apple pie

Cocoa therapy is a bit much for me alone but blended with a vanilla or marshmallow or even cinnamon would probably be fabulous - ha or even the nutmeg ginger...now I'm thinking and will have to try it

That sounds really good! I'm glad to see some reviews on Filmore, I've been wanting to order from them because they are within reasonable driving distance of me. Well, a couple hours, but if I combine a big heavy order of containers and FO, it will be worth avoiding the shipping is my thought.

Ive tried chocolate FO from a few other vendors but it always smells like those cheap hollow bunnies you get at Easter. I'd love something deep and rich...

  6. I doubt this is an original idea, but when I see what people are willing to pay for those ridiculously over-priced 31 bags, I am always tempted to get out my sewing machine and give bags a try! There are so many fun fabrics out there, and bags are so easy to make. Depending on your area, you could even have a theme - beach bags, picnic totes, reuse able shopping bags, swanky purses... They are fantastic gifts too!

Would I buy this color for myself, no, probably not. Would I buy it as a gift for someone else, yes most definitely. Would I love it if it was given to me as a gift - absolutely. Because when I get or buy a candle I actually USE the candle, and burn it, and then either recycle the jar (if it's beautiful like this one, by giving it to someone who has that color as decoration, or some filled with something useful) or I toss it. It's rare for me to actually use candles as decorations. And if/when I do, it's usually only around the holiday's and then I reuse the container to decorate around the holiday's again.

I know that this is pretty rare for a lot of people, because I know a lot of people decorate their homes with the candles they purchase and never burn then. I can't do that. LOL

I agree, I wouldn't buy or gift a candle in the blue jar as a holiday decoration, but I would totally get it if it was a fragrance that I or my giftee would burn and use year round, if that makes sense. Like the VBN, sure it's a holiday fragrance but I love it all the time, and it would go great in that style and color jar. Or if it was a citrus/herbal/clean kind of fragrance that could be combined in a spa type gift basket...

Around here (mid-Atlantic), we had a holiday decorating trend of whites, blues and silver, so maybe that would work? IDK, you know your market, but it sounds like you really love these jars and I'm sure you could find the creative inspiration to make them work!

  8. I've been pouring Candlewic's CBL-125, which I understand from reading other posts is the same as IGI 4630. I love it, so easy to use, holds a ton of fragrance, makes a beautiful candle. Recently I've been adding a bit of soy to give it more of a "creamy" look when I choose not to color it, and I feel like it's also helped to slow down the burn time as well. I give it about 48 hours to cure, not for any particular reason other than I'm a soaper and I'm used to things needing a cure time, lol. I figure it can't hurt to let the fragrance settle into the wax a bit more, and it gives my nose a break from that fragrance so I can enjoy it more when I burn it. Not very scientific but it's been working for me so far!

I use HTPs, they seem to work really well with this wax. I need to figure out the twisting the wick trick though, because they do get a serious lean going on.

  9. I saw this morning that WSP is having a 30% off sale on their fall FOs!

I only picked up a couple, I'm trying to control myself, but Apple Pie for $13/lb was too good to pass up! Plus the free shipping on orders over $40 (I have a hard time keeping any order under $40),  I'd be throwing away money if I didn't place an order, right? 😁

I just called C&S and these jars are not painted which is wonderful but they are a limited collection so once the jars are gone they are gone....

Hi, I have been lurking for quite some time, and taking shameless advantage of everyone's great advice and recommendations. I am super excited that I can finally offer something in return!

C&S is very close to my aunt's house, so during a visit I dropped in to purview their wares. I actually laid hands on these jars, and they are just lovely in person. Very elegant. I was very tempted to pick up a couple, but I am so new to candle making, my sad attempts are just not worthy! ?

I thought the blue ones were just beautiful!

Their store was very cool, and although their prices are a little steeper than some of the online suppliers I use, I did pick up a couple pounds of FOs and saved myself the shipping costs. And they have EVERYTHING there for a hobbyist dabbling in soap, wax, and B&B. Well worth the detour if you're in the Lehigh Valley area.

Anyway, back to topic, the jars are just as pretty as the picture, and they seemed well made too. Hope that helps!
