I use that wax for pillars and I think it works great. With the proper wick, it melts down completely - no hugging required.
Nice. So it doesn't blow out like EcoSoya PB does/can? How well does it release? How nice does it color?

Best I've smelled came from Lebermuth. Made my knees weak.
It makes my wallet feel weak too. That one is VERRRRRY pricey.

I've had a request for Bay Rum fragrance in candles/lotions, etc. Anyone recommend a good one?
-
Has anyone used Kentucky Candle Wax Supply's Soy Pillar wax? How easy is it to work with? How does it perform as a pillar? Have you compared it to EcoSoya PB?
Thanks,
Tony

Flash Point has nothing to do with the rate of evaporation. The flash point is the temperature at which the liquid vapor will "flash" when a flame is present.

Is it Monday yet?
All day!

I love TKB's colors.
Thanks for the compliments everyone
How much mica are you using for these? I'm trying to decide how much to get to play around with.
-
The micas are under a 1/4th of a regular sandwich bag, but figure anywhere from 1/2 to 1 from the bottom.
Thanks. Now, how much would typically go in per/pound of a soap batch?
Tell me to shut up if I'm asking too many questions...
-
I just ordered some, so I'll put my two "scents" in when I get it... :rolleyes2
-
Anyone try each of these and can give me a comparison? I poured the Peony White Tea from CC and it is delicious! Best scent I've poured in quite awhile! But, I'd like to see how it compares to CS's scent, even though I know I'll end up ordering a sample!! (It gets 2 leaves on CS's site, how's it throwing for folks? I use a 50/50 blend...)
Thanks!!!!!
I don't know about CS, but I love CC's Peony White Tea. Easily my favorite FO.

I don't use a full tsp, but I would say you get about eight tsp a bag. That's a complete guess. I'm not going to transfer a baggie over to find out ... no offense, but it can be messy.
And a bag is how many ounces? One?
-
Huh, I need to investigate more on the beeswax thing because I have always heard it killed the bees to get it...

Actually, beekeepers help sustain the bee populations.

What is the typical (average) amount of mica you are adding to a soap batch? I'm considering the co-op running now on colorants and I want to make sure I get enough to play around with.
How many teaspoons are in an ounce of mica, or whatever would be the correct spoons-per-ounce relationship?
Thanks!

Nifty colors!

For me Patchouli EO is still the best IMHO!!
Yep, I bet that is true.
Any recommendations on source and what percentage you add to your candles?

Tri-State and Peak's.
Cool. I almost forgot I have ordered from Peak..

No.
No.
No.
No.
Prefer the straight patch over patch gold, but my preference for patchouli isn't with any of the companies you've listed.
I should have also mentioned that I'll take any recommendations too...
-
I'd like to keep to my current suppliers for this one, so does anyone have any experience with a Patchouli from any of the following:
Candle Cocoon - Patchouli Dreams
At Wix End - Patchouli
The Candlemaker's Store - Patchouli
FOH - didn't see one...
Solas - Patchouli, Patchouli Gold
Mostly will be used in soy candles. Possible B&B use.
I'm getting ready to make an order with CC, so I'd like any opinions on their's.
If you can recommend someone elses, please do.
Thanks!

I like the Candlemaker's Store for Jack Frost. Smells like peppermint. The Snow cream is awesome, which smells like they mix their buttercreme and Jack Frost.
I know that doesn't help with BCS..

Beautiful...what color is that, I really like it alot.
I custom-mixed a brown. I just tossed in flakes of color chips, red and green. I really hate when I do that, because I can't duplicate the results later

This is me sneaking away with that pillar! :tiptoe:
Great job!
Too bad! I already burned it!
I need to get the wicking right still, but it smells awesome.

That's a mighty good looking pillar. Didn't know anyone was selling a soy/palm blend.
At Wix End has it.

Whoa! The one on the right looks weird. I have never seen that before. That is too bad! Maybe it was just a bad batch. Can you use the soy for anything else like votives?
I ended up mixing it with some container wax to make nice tarts.
