  1. I found one other thread with a wick test. The clear winner being an HTP 1212. Question is, is the HTP wick available in a spool? Or, pretabed longer than 6" Tony
  2. Looking to do some 3" diameter pillars with Ecosoya PB wax. What wicks are working for you all? Thanks, Tony
  3. I would suspect whatever the base oil is in the fragrance more than the clamshell. I could be wrong, as I often am. Most of the fragrances I use have a soy oil base. I know that many oils will attack plastics over time. Perhaps the FO has such a component. I got my clamshells in a co-op a while back. Tony
  4. Would anyone find an online calculator useful for this type of thing? Plug in variables (oz wax, target %) to get the proper fragrance. I've considered doing this for myself. Tony
  5. I dip the wick tab in wax and set it in the cup. They cool and set pretty quickly. Then I straighten the wicks out. Then pour. Tony
  6. I've got some year old candles right now. They're the best performing candles I have right now.
  7. I guess the answer is "NO" then, eh? I guess I need to give something a try and report back to base....
  8. It is supposed to "cleanse" the sniffer. Like a fragrance eraser.
  9. Is there any veggie wax suitable for doing a hurricane shell similar to what is in the instructions under the "Techniques & Ideas"? I've got some palm/soy crystaline pillar wax that would probably look neat. Just curious if anyone has tried this out. Tony
  10. Yeah.... Don't test pillar wicking on your entertainment center....
  11. Hmmm.. Thought I'd've figured that out by now too....
  12. I've considered color coding wicks as soon as I get them. Just slide a marker across a bunch of them and throw back in your storage. I've not yet tried this, but I've screwed up enough to really think about it.
  13. I usually end up at 1.2 oz. per pound. But, it varies by fragrance.
  14. You could always double wick too. That way, you don't end up with a real smoker of a wick. Tony
  15. Thanks! I'm just happy to be noticed:D
  16. I have some that I think was Scent Event (Candle Cocoon). I don't see it on her list though.
  17. What does the scent resemble? Anything close to Andes Mints?
  18. Some have referred to it as Monkey Bombs. How about Primate Poofers? Tony
  19. Yankme... Funny... I know the Candlemaker's doesn't carry it. I'm pretty sure I went through most of the list of suppliers when I started the thread and the only "hit" was the Chemistry store. Though, I do think that the fragrance is pretty new for "Yankme" Teehee. Tony
  20. I need to try an electric one, 'cause my wife keeps running me out of tealights :rolleyes2 Tony
  21. Looking for a good, authentic smelling cola FO. I've used one so far. It is pretty potent, but still smells too artificial for my tastes. My wife likes it and I've sold a few candles made with the FO I had. I got the cola FO from www.thecandlemakersstore.com Any others I should try? Tony
  22. This reminds me of a couple projects I've been contemplating. First is an online calculator to figure wax/FO ratios. Second would be a chart/spreadsheet with Ounces wax vs. FO % load and the resultant FO amount. If there is anything out there right now, it would be useful to know (so I don't have to duplicate efforts). Any special requests for functionality on an online candle calculator? Tony
  23. Any new updates on "Rice Milk". I haven't gotten around to getting a sample from the Chemistry Store yet. Tony
