    Double Boiler

Opinions please When making melts/tarts, does it really make a difference using a double Boiler vs direct pot on the stove?? I've done both, not sure I can tell the difference . Hmmm
  2. I have been looking for a FO dupe for Tyler's 24/7 glam. I received 1 small candle as a gift, it was one of the best smelling candles I've ever smelled, totally fell in love!!!! I hope someone knows of a good dupe, I really need this one!! ?

I'm trying to decide which one to mix with 4630.

    4625 VS 4794

If you had to choose between 4624 or 4794 to blend in a melt, you would choose?
  6. Thank you so much for this tip! I'll deff try to find. Glade warmer such as this one? I have a few scentsy warmers, 25 watt bulbs. What's the difference between the 2? Most people that place orders usr Scentsy style warmers or hot plate ? Or the hot plate you spoke about. Hot plate is electric where you put a jar candle on top of or is it the style that you use a tealight candle beneath? Again, ty for sharing your knowledge
  7. Scentsy 25 watt. Too high?
  8. Looking around It sure seems that way. I noticed alot of bargain places had higher ship, some higher priced places had lower shipping. Go figure
  9. That's true, but it's hard not to think about those good ol flat rate boxes! Hehehe... Anyhow, hopefully I find 1 I like sooner or later. Thanks for the tip
  10. Hopefully I'll be able to do this sooner or later.
  11. I understand. Can't wait till I find a supplier I really like, put large orders with 1 company. I'll definitely look in the fragrance category. Ty
  12. Im waiting on some FO from Peak to try. Other than Lonestar and Peak, I haven't tried any others as of yet. I would love to try other places as well, but all that shipping!!!
  13. Thanks for the tip, will do!
  14. Thank you for your list, helps alot!
  15. The wax came from Lonestar also.
  16. Now that you mention it, I didn't get the petroleum/crayon smell right away. Maybe 2 hrs after being in the warmer...
  17. Crayon may have been a better description than petroleum Jelly So, maybe it is the wax? The wax came from Lonestar also.
  18. Im pretty new to this. Maybe I didnt add the Fo while it was hot enough. Not sure if that would cause an odd smell or not? I added FO around 155-160. You had mentioned on another thread that you like 4625 better than the 4794, correct? As far as 4630 and 4633, can you tell a difference? I'm debating on trying the 4625 mixing it with 4633... I would love to have a formula that gives a strong, long lasting HT
  19. Yes, 1oz of fragrance per pound of wax. I've tried 2 scents from Lonestar candle supply. Autumn Lodge and Plum Blush. Not sure if temperature plays a role, I added FO @ 160? Im waiting on some FO from Peak to arrive, maybe they will do the trick. Hmmmm

  22. Anyone have any luck with certain brands of strong FO HT lasting longer than other brands? I've tried Lonestar FO, waiting on a few from Natures Garden. I want to try others as well, but hate paying so much in shipping! I would love to input on brands.... hmmmmm
  23. After some research on what was a good wax for melts, I decided on trying IGI 4794 mixed with IGI 4633 (J223). I've tried 2 different ratios: Both 1 ounce per pound. 4794/4633 70/30% And 50/50% Here's the problem, both end up having a cheap, petroleum jelly smell! Any input would be great, ty!
