  1. That's very unfortunate that they do that :( - its very disingenuous.  i have been looking at their FOs for a while and didnt order any because i had bought afew fos from other suppliers that didnt work for me so i was nervous to spend money on them... But they have so many FOs that are tempting to me.

  2. Apple harvest from CS is fantastic! it smells very much like a natural apple smell and not "candy". it also has subtle earthy undertone, i really liked it a lot.

(sorry saw that you were looking for advice on the scent from Tennessee since you were making an order)

  3. I have been seeing many mentions of the 464, I currently use 444. Does the 464 have better hot throw?

I am about to reorder my supplies and notice that I wish my candles had more hot throw ( but sometimes I wonder if I am just nose blind because everyone I have given candles to say they smell fantastic)

I am open to other wax options too, I usually buy from CS, the one time I ordered from nature's garden I think I got a bad batch of wax and went back to CS.

    Thanks :D

  4. @moonshine- thanks so much :)  i will for sure try out Fillmore's Christmas tree!

i have been nervous about buying an expensive patch essential oil and not have my candles burn right so i have resisted making an order. I did find some patch fragrance oil mixes on Bulk Apothecary  that sound interesting. I have had some requests for patch, that is why i asked. I will look at the Witches Brew.

(it will take me a while to get all of the abbreviations! i just looked at the list of suppliers and there are way more than i would have ever found on my own)

  5. How happy am I to have found this thread! I have been looking for new scents!

The only scents I like have been ones I have gotten from candle science, although the only exception is grandma's kitchen from natures garden.

Here are the ones that I really like...

All of these are from candle science

    1) apple and maple Bourbon

    2) very vanilla

    3) Blue Spruce - the best christmas evergreen scent that i have found.

    4) blackberry vanilla

    5) apple harvest

I want to make patchouli candles where have you found good as scents for that?

    Thanks :-)

  6. Hi my name is Brigit,

I have been making candles for about 2 years now. I am from Massachusetts. Recently I made 100 soy candles as favors for my wedding and everyone has loved them. I decide to start selling them just in small batches and have been having trouble finding groups that have been candle makers / didn't automatically assume that i would be trying to sell my candles to them. I have no intention to sell them on this board.

I have been looking for help on tips that others have found helpful along their journey.

I hope to also provide some other helpful tips/sources here for other crafters.
