  1. I must admit your taste is very versatile. Looking at the work you have posted, you range from pretty and intriquite to quite bizarre :wink2: It's quite unusual to have a variety as such. With all your different styles, I am sure you have something for just about everyone :D

I bet you enjoy a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as much as escargot :wink2:

  2. So, you will be in MY neck of the woods :D I'd really LOVE to meet you but I have to run the kids back and forth to work everyday. I only live 45 minutes north-west of Charlotte. Let me know next time you get up here Luci. Maybe we could meet for lunch?

The only thing I have ever purchased from them were a few fragrance oils a long time ago. They all threw well in my candles. I since discovered Candle Science and haven't ordered from Carolina in a long long time.

  3. As i was saying.. The problem with distilled water is that it doesn't have any "germ killers" added to it. Distilled water is simply that.. It's the purified water.. which means it doesn't have any resources to attack the germs and mold that are everywhere. Even a single skin cell scratched into a bowl of water can cause mold.

Well, when I make any items that call for water I use distilled bottled and will continue to do so. Heck, I don't even drink some tap water so I sure would not put it in any products I make to sell to the public :D

  4. I was just wondering if ayone adds a preservative to this? I made these before with water beads and they got mold in them.

Please let me know if I have to do this with the knox formula?:)

I used to make them a long long time ago and some I had on the shelf for months never molded. I used plastic inserts under the lids. Make sure you use distilled bottled water, not tap.

  5. I found straight palm wax is a royal pita! I used to use it but experimented over and over again. I ended up using a mix of palm, soy and paraffin that worked well and still gave me the "feathered appearance". Sorry, can't remember the exact proportions since I quit making that blend quite awhile ago. Just wanted to let you know that it takes a lot of time and patience to muster this task for a good appearance, throw and burn.

  6. Out of curiousity I bought one of the Wood Wick candles at Cracker Barrel last year. It's almost half burned now and the whole jar is black from soot. I wasn't real impressed with the crackling sound but the scent throw is super ;)

Sorry, no help on you finding the wicks but wanted to share my experience.
