Congrats! That first store sale is something to be proud of
I made a copy of my very first check and enlarged it. It is on my wall right above my desk. It was 6 years ago for $441. I was SO proud

Thanks, people. I could barely read those first several posts through my tears:embarasse and I feel just awful. I have contacted my buyer and asked for an extra month to test for this size jar. I really, REALLY appreciate your words of encouragement and helpful advice. I have tested a few candles, but only small, votive size ones. I mostly sell essential oil products and thought it would be fun to add some EO tarts to my line. My tarts are wonderful, so I made some candles. That's how I got going. Only then did I go tra-la-la-ing through the web looking for great candle-making ideas. Little did I know I had stepped into a minefield!! I appreciate all the experience you bring and am glad to hear that others have had similar experiences and lived to tell about it.
You have a wonderful attitude! Good you can accept advice from all the wonderful and proud chandlers in this group. They won't steer you wrong and it's great you found Candle Tech.
I hope you have a successful business

Absolutely beautiful candle!

It just about 1/2 way down so I hope I don't start to get a lot of sooting now. Although I really don't care if I do because I just bought that one to see what the big deal was about these. I'll post that picture of it when I get home tonight. Btw, I think the scent was jasmine.
That's why I bought mine too, out of curiousity. I also see that you got the smaller jar. That also could play a big part in how they burn.

Wow, I have a WW and it hasn't sooted at all? Are you trimming the wick (aka knocking off the charred part) each time you burn? I will post a pic when I get home tonight.
Yes, the wick was kept trimmed. It didn't burn hot either. Just a nice slow burn. I'm thinking it may be the fragrance "Cotton Flower" oil that had something to do with it. It didn't start sooting like this until the candle was half gone. The first half of the burn it smoked a bit but not bad at all.
Have you burned your candle more than half-way yet Bill?

Just wanted to share how bad the wood wicks soot

Jody's is close to Springfield , IL. I always got my orders in 5-10 days. She is a bit high on shipping though. I found the quality of products top-notch.

I found the wicks made by the company you posted on Ebay but the auction is over.

I think it's great they are finally being offered to the public and am excited to see how they burn for you.
