  1. Don't you temp me! LOL I would love to go gungho and start from scratch- but price of getting started, worries about trial and error and that "steril" enrionment thing scare me! LOL Thank you for your suggestion of the samples. I need to do that... I wonder, when making samples to test for myself- should I try to add FO to see the "finished product"? Or are samples too small to add FO to.
  2. Until I get a better workroom (aka- NOT my kitchen) I don't think I am ready to attemp making things from scratch yet. I would like to add to my line of tarts a b&b section. I was thinking of just doing a few basics- hand/body lotion, bubble bath, sugar scrub, and maybe bath salts. I would LOVE to do bath bombs- but after reading abuot how difficult theose buggers can be I decided that is down in the future..... way in the future! I have two questions- when buying a pre-made base, should I add more preservative to it? Also- I have read and found that BCN is recommended for their bases. Since there are so many out there I am overwhelmed. I would like to know your favorite- and if anyone has tried the JS products yet- can you give me a quick review. I am still in the stages of finding the type of jars and bottles- and determining what size I want everything to be. I would LOVE any help and advice. Thanks all! Jackie edited to add- I see that MillCreek is good too. I like that their line is soy.
  3. Would say bath bombs are worth it? Do you get a lot of purchases for these? Also- how big is an average bath bomb? And can you use a metal mold for one- or does it have to be plastic? AND- anything else you would like to tell me about bath bombs... LOL Thanks! Jackie
  4. No- it was one link to a board like this one. But what you posted will definitely help! THANK YOU for a start.
  5. I get quite a few oils from MillCreek and have never been disappointed! Very strong oils. I have to admit though- I am spolied by JS free samples. i really wish more places gave out free samples! LOL
  6. This morning, I read about a link on here for a soap and BB forum... I cannot find that link anywhere! I am really trying to find reviews on the different b&b products out there- best prices, best quality, best places to find bottles, etc. I KNOW I saw that link on here- after searching and searching, I have decided to post and ak for help
  7. Sweet! Thank you... I thought there could be considered an expense- but wanted to make sure Actually- maybe it isn't so sweet... now I have to go back through paypal invoices blah! I DENINITELY know what I will be doing differen this year in terms of records LOL
  8. I am wondering if the paypal fees that are charged for online orders are considered an expense for tax purposes? THanks! Jackie
  9. Well- it is time to create a really good website. The one I have now was made quickly just to sell to friends. It looks *ok* but I want a professional looking site. I have been looking at other sites on here and I am IMPRESSED! I got to ask- did you make your own, go through someone, etc. I noticed zencart mentioned. What ar your thoughts on this? I have also noticed that frontpage is not a good idea. I would love some guidance on getting started. Thank you!!!!!!!
  10. Thank you! For some reason, I just got nervous that I missed something important LOL
  11. Ok- I am confused! LOL I registered with my state (Pennsylvania) for my sales tax/id number. Do I need to register or do anything official with the IRS? I realize that I am in over my head with taxes and figure that I need to start with this beginning question!
  12. I love the idea of the different colored paper.... do you find it a pain to switch colors a lot while printing? I think I can even expand this to printing on different colors for internet invoices.
  13. I like it! I like it a lot! I am one of those people who like to "see" what I have going on. I work in my kitchen right now.... so it will be trick to find a good place for it... but I am going to give that a try!
  14. I am determined to have a better system with my tarts. This are really picking up and I can tell that I need to become more organized. I was reading on here how someone places their lables in an alphabetical accordian folder. I love this idea and am going to do it today! I forget who posted that- but thank you for the tip! I am REALLY looking for a good way to keep orders organized. I am only internet right now- so I print them off and then the system breaks down! LOL I have orders all over the place and no real system for keeping them organzied. What do you do? One little trick that I do with my wax is to pre-measure it and pt it in baggies. I combine soy and beeswax. So- I have 2 lb. bags made up and ready to go. It really saves time when I have a small order that I need to fill. I really enjoy reading on this forum and have gotten so many good ideas! I can't wait to see what everyone has to say
