  1. OK- I admit it I am JS junkie! LOL I will say that Becky's customer service is what keeps me coming back. With the free samples she includes, I usually end up ordering at least 1 out of the 3. I have A LOT of really strong throws in my wax with her oils. I also have some weak ones. And then some in between that just don't *grab* me. Right now 3 out of 5 of my top sellers are from JS. I know I will be in the minority here- but I like getting the weekly emails. YES- I do get ticked off when just the week before I ordered a scent only to find it suddenly discounted. BUT now I have learned to wait. LOL Eventually, everything will have some kind of sale. Since I am not as big as most of you, I can afford to do this. I am really shocked about hearing that some of you were dropped from the mailing list. I don't know enough to comment one way or the other.... but if what you are saying is true, that is REALLY bad!!!!!! And the other things being said are making me I found JS right when I started and Becky was opening up also.... so, I am thankful for the oils that I do get from her that ROCK. I do try other places. What bugs me is that the oils that ROCK from JS are not as expensive as the oils from other places. I guess that is one of the main reasons why I keep going back to JS- the prices. Oh well, I wish there was a supplier that had it all- cheap prices, cheap shipping, great customer service, fantastic oils, free samples out the wazoo.... But I guess that is a dream LOL anyhow- just wanted to throw that in
  2. I just got a bunch of 1 lb. oils, and two of them are very cloudy and have sediment in the bottom of the bottle. I have shook them and it mixes for about 30 mins. and then everything settle to the bottom again. I am guessing that I got the the bottom of the barrel with these two oils. I am going to email the supplier about this..... but my question is.... did any of you try to use this "bottom of the barrel" oil before? Does it have negative effects on your finished product? I don't even want to try using the oil becuase I would be wasting wax if it isn't good or makes it ugly.
  3. Lemon Sugar - throws for me, but is a light throw. Still a keeper becuase how good it smells. Sandalwood and Bee Blossom- strong throw for me. The rest you mentioned either I never tried, or I didn't care for (so I can't remember the strength). I really like JS and am lucky that *most* do throw for me. Not saying that all do, but most of them. I am lucky in the fact that usually the scents I love I have success with! I have had really bad luck with oils from Nature's Garden. I just can't get them to throw for me. Which makes me want to scream becuase I love a lot of the scents they offer. After two tries, I realized that I need to cut my losses. It sounds like you are getting close to that point with JS. I don't think that just becuase NG's oils don't work for me I should start to bash the company. Some oils work for some people and some don't. edited becuase I can't spell! LOL
  4. OMG- the exact same thing happened to me..... but with molds. The molds were cracking. I emailed them and asked about a return/exchange policy and was told that the fault was that I was pouring too hot. First off- they had no idea what temp. I was pouring at and second (this is the one that kills me), I was told that the molds I bought were not for candles but for soap. CLEARLY, on the website, they were being sold as candle molds. after about 4 emails with this person.... so full of typos and grammatical errors that actually made the emails unreadable AND never did address any of my questions, I got another email that stated someone was on vacation and had another person answering her emails for her. This email was readable and finally addressed my concerns. Long story short- I was given a credit for all of the molds and not just the ones that had cracked. However, after this experience and the $10 shipping charge, I will not be ordering from them again. The response(s) that I got in the beginning were so bad that I actually had to laugh! Not a good way to do business.
  5. YEP!!!!! I swear I look forward to Saturdays just to find out what her new sale will be! LOL I am lame, I know it! Her past sales over the summer have been better than most. I am trying REALLY hard not to get anything unless I need something.
  6. I TOTALLY missed the window last year of when to bring out my fall scents. I waited until it was cold...and then it was winter before I knew it LOL! Do you have a specifice date when you start to promote the Fall scents? I want to do MUCH better this year- not introduce them early but not too late. Sept. 1.... Sept. 21st... something else?
  7. Baby Magic- dead on and strong in soy Blue Berry Cheesecake- try the blueberry cobbler Coco Cream Pie- still smells a bit like fule to me, but it the strongest thorw I have found yet Almond- IN LOVE with and want to swin in her almond marizpan!!!!!!! Mulberry- I had a lot of sales with this one last christmas season Mojita Cocktail- can you say STRONG!!!!!!!!!
  8. I am looking into using boxes instead of bakery bags for my tarts. I am wondering if I need a special kind of "candle box." Since the bakery bags and the individual bags are supposed to be polypro.... do I need to find a box that is lined with polypro also? Any ideas on a good and inexpensive place where I can find some boxes? I have been doing a lot of googling and my head is spinning! LOL :undecided
  9. Oh man! I would be LIVID!!!!!!!!!!!! Who printed out the label- Sweet Cakes or UPS? That is where the fault lies. It sounds like Sweet Cakes printed the wrong address- so had it not been for their error, this would not have happened. Yes- UPS didn't help matters by not changing the address... The re-packaging fee is RIDICULOUS! Did you pay by paypal? Can you dispute it? It sucks that you want these scents, because by this point.... I would be telling them where to stick the scents.
  10. Thank you.... after just having a TERRIBLE experience with them in which I was given a credit, I was shocked to see this shipping cost. Well.... I guess I will use my credit and then be done with them.
  11. I figure I have a couple extra dollars and I want to try the sampler. I KNOW Peaks is loved by A LOT of you.... so I know I am opening up pandora's box right now. What are your favorites or the ones I must try (I pour in soy). Man, this is too much fun! I just wish it wasn't so expensive! LOL Edit: This is what I have on my list. Any comments? amish Harvest, Georgia Peach, Mango Papaya, Fudge Brownie, Hot Cocoa, lemon Poudn Cake, Wild Cherry, Frosted Carrot Cake, Vanilla Amber, Cornucopia
  12. The packaging I have been using for my tarts is based upon places I have bought from before. I would like to explore different ideas of packaging tarts. I sell individual tarts (I use resealable poly bags) and a dozen tarts (in a bakery bag). Anything good you have seen or can recommend????
  13. has this recent changed or have I not been paying attention w/ my last orders???? Shipping- MINIMUM SHIPPING CHARGE IS $10.00 WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. YES- I have a site for you!!!!!!! http://www.sxc.hu/ They recently added a section that you need to pay for... so sadly, some of the really good ones are being moved there. Some of the pictures require you to only notify the artist that you are using it, a few say that they must be given credit... but the majority have no requirements. Also- check out Istock. Yes, you have to pay... but sometimes for that perfect graphic you should spend the $1.00 for it. There are a lot of other sites out there that you can purchase stock pics, but really read the fine print about how much it costs. As for googling and taking someones pic.... I wouldn't do it for the more reasons than just the obvious "illegal" point. NOW- I have used google to get ideas of what it out there... and then that guided my search on the stock pic sites. Hope this helps...
  15. Ok- I get nervous posting my site..... but this was done for free (by my husband who knows enough about code that we could do it). The shopping cart comes with it, as does all the modules for different languages, different currencies, different shipping options, different just about anything you could want. It is a zencart site done with free stock pics. (Well- I take that back, I did get a bunch off of istock). ANY and all adds I have on here are put there by me (or my husband LOL) If you are REALLy good w/ computers, I would say check out zencart. prairieannie- I see what you mean now! I agree that those sites definitely lose something with all the adds and odd placed windows. My free site: www.sweethearttarts.com
  16. Ummmm.... I have a free website that I think looks very professional- and it really is free. The problem is, you really need to know your computer stuff to have a good Open Source site. I do pay for my domain name and hosting.
  17. My BCN honey cocoa mango throw really welll in soy....
  18. I am trying out aroma beads and so far like everything about them... except the price. I am wondering if anyone did a price comparison on aroma beads vs. smelly jellies. I am kind of scared to start offereing these (the aroma jars) becuase of how much fragrance oil is needed per jar. I am currently using an 8 oz. jar. I did a test run and they sold like crazy. BUT- my test run was at a cheap price just to gauge the quality and feedback of the product. Which ones do you like better? Which ones would you say work better for a car freshener (like in an organza bag). I hope this posts makes sense. I am trying to get a good handle on this before I decide to spend a lot of money getting everything to offer it as part of my lineup.
  19. Ok- I am going to try a sample pack from Old Mill. This is what I have on my list.... anything else you think is super strong in soy? (and if any of these I am listing didn't do well for you in soy, could you let me know) Bacci de Miele Baton Rouge Goddess Lapis Lazul Lavenilla Mata Hari Sweet Scarlett Vaniglia del Madagascar (I see a lot of place carry this one... any reviews on this from another site?)
  20. I really need to stop following link- I just made a list of a bunch that I want to try! Man... I need more money LOL
  21. I have 10- but then a master list of all scent descriptions aromatherapy bakery beverage (thinking of doing something with this one becuase it isn't getting the traffic it should) clean designer (high end names- not b&BW type scents) earthy floral fruit other seasonal (I pull from my other categories to fill this one up as the seasons change)
  22. Thank you so much for responding I am in PA. I have only ever used the waxes from MC, so when I am trying to find a new wax... all the different names confuse the heck out of me! I think I have about 5 different windows open right now trying to match up wax names w/ wax properties LOL Does this wax have a "name" or should I just look for a soy pillar/votive blend that uses coconut and palm oils?
  23. I am trying to see if I can find this wax closer to home.... but I have no idea if it is only a MillCreek wax or if it is a typical blend that others carry. From their website: MillCreek's All Natural Natural Pillar/Votive Wax MillCreek is proud to offer you a great All Natural Wax for your pillar and votive candle making needs. MillCreek's All Natural Pillar/Votive Wax makes beautiful free standing candles that is just a joy to work with. Available in pellet form for easy handling, our All Natural Pillar/Votive wax is a mixture of the finest Palm and Coconut oils blended with other natural waxes resulting in candles with an excellent burn and scent throw. This product does not contain any paraffin. See 'How to Make' link at left for complete instructions. Recommend fragrance usage: Wax has a fragrance load of 5-8%. Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
