I just received a sample of CS frankincense and myrrh and I love it, but I wonder if anybody has a better version. I read candle cocoon has a nice one but I haven't tried it, yet. Who has your favorite frankincense and myrrh FO?
-
I think you are right.

I hope not we are just discussing scents not the s**e.

Why would they do that? Was it more commercial than other threads about specific suppliers? Just curious.
My samples arrived today too. I literally walked out to meet the mailman. It was fun opening and sniffing them, though it took me much less time than you. As you say, some winners, and some losers. My favorite out of the bottle is Vanilla Hazelnut. (or is it Hazelnut Vanilla). A couple others are not appealing at all. But it was an experiment. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Look at the sticky at the top about sales announcements. I saw it after the thread vanished. Frasier Fir, Blue Spruce and Coriander & Tonka are my favs so far.

I think mods deleted the other thread. And I got my 120 samples today, it took 1.5 hours just to open and sniff each one. some winners a few losers, but I really need to get a few in wax before I pass judgement.

Community Candle carries those paper lids which I like and they have the jars that fit them also.
Trappeur
I already have the jars, I am ordering the lids now and trying to thin out the FO's from my cart (I hear they have some good ones).

I know I've seen them, just not sure through what supplier.
Do a quick google search & later
I'll see what I come up with too
and repost I really like the look
of them. I love Fillmore/ they do a
phenomenal job packing.
My broken glasses say different, but they have great customer service and are sending replacements.

Do you have a Dollar Tree nearby? Many start out with the glass they carry. It's fairly heavy (which you might not like) but that makes it safe. They don't carry lids but again many have found lids that work with them. At least you're not paying shipping to try out different glass.
Also General Wax (candlemakingsupplies.net) has a 3 oz, 7 oz and 14 oz tumbler and they sell the plastic lids to fit them.
I plan on ordering some samples from general wax. I will have to google and see if there is a dollar tree near me, I think there is..

I like that look, do you know where those lids come from.
I wish I knew Filmore did that before ordering two cases of glasses and lids that I wont be using.

Can anyone recommend a straight sided tumbler glass with a diameter of 3" or under, the has lids available. Also it would be nice if the glass came in two heights (i.e. 8oz + 12oz sizes).
I have tried libbey 13oz heavy base tumbler but it is too large (diameter) and no lids.
I just received my madison jars (minus the broken ones) but I put a lid on one and it was great, I put a lid on another and cannot get it off for the life of me. This poor manufacturing tolerance is unacceptable, I can already see the costly problems that would arise from a customer not being able to take the lid off of the candle they just got in the mail.
I have also tried the libbey universal candle tumbler but it is too narrow and I did not know before buying a case that the glass was so thick, I just dont care for the look of it at all.
Why cant someone make a glass sample pack, it is very expensive to have to order an entire case only to find out the glass isn't going to work.

Some scents I've enjoyed include: Beach type, Chocolate Chip Brownies MW type, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Salted Caramel, Fall Festival MW type, Citrus Shower, Cinnamon Sugared Donut, Citrus Bath, Arabie, Vanilla Ice Cream, Violet Shower, Sugar Cookie, This Old House, and Warm Welcome.
Violet shower sounds soooo good. I think I will add that to the list.

When I was on the Bittercreek forum Lemon Pucker was a huge huge seller as everyone loved it. I never ordered it myself as that is not my type of fragrance, but it wouldn't hurt to order a sample of it as it supposedly is that good. Bittercreek has a lot of wonderful fragrances that I love myself so you could always order other things with it.
Trappeur
Gonna have to add Lemon Pucker to the list, good thing I have to place an order with bittercreek soon.

Ok so it's not just me then. The
thing that drives me crazy is how
they lean, therefore leaving wax
Hangup on the jar. I'm using 464
right now & im thinking I should
explore other wicks. I have ECOs
but no LX . What wick would you
say you like best right now ?
TYI ??
leaning towards RRD, ECO and Performa right now. But just noticed some discoloration of wax with ECO wicks.

What is it about the cd wicks you didn't like ? Keep us updated ?
Major mushrooming, tendency to lean over off center causing uneven burn. The others just didn't have these issues. I may revisit as the array of size options are quite nice.
-
Currently testing LX, ECO, Performa and RRD. I dont like the way wood wicks discolor the wax. I tried CD, HTP and Zincs but didnt like the performance. Hopefully finances will allow me to continue testing until I find a winner.

Looking for advice for applying labels to oval lip balm tubes. I have seen machines for between $500 - $3000. Not looking to spend that much yet, but would like a piece of equipment that would make label alignment and positioning perfect every time. Eyeballing it is hopeless for me and expensive with wasted labels and tubes due to misalignment. What do you use to ensure your labels are are perfect every time?

I think I have 16 ounces of SW London Lemon Curd here. Let me go check! Oh and I love Lemon Pucker, nice and lemony but not close to the curd.
Moonstar, BCN Lemon Pucker is a good lemon scent; it's up there with AH Lemon Slices. I like to use them as the base for my lemonade concoctions (Blackberry, Cherry, Mango, blueberry, etc.)
If you ever decide to part with any of that SW London Lemon Curd, please let me know

What type of lemon are you looking for ? A verbena type or something sweeter ? These might be too sweet for you idk ???
But I LOVE Fillmore iced lemon biscotti - super yummy and strong too. ICS Lemon ice box cookie is good & WSP has a lemon
seed and parsley but it's tart so I don't know if you'd like that one. I've heard WSP lemon & verbena type is good and their
verbena Loctaine type .
I am looking for more of a tart lemon than a sweet lemon. I will mainly be using to it blend with other FO.

I have not tried it yet, but it is on my list. Do you have any suggestions for a good not too sweet lemon scent?
