  1. I think Candles and Supplies sells them in different sizes... www.candlesandsupplies.com
  2. I pray for rain every weekend too LOL just so I have an excuse to stay in the house and play with all of my soap, candles and balm! Great minds think alike!!
  3. Love Spell Clean Cotton Baby Powder French Vanilla Sandalwood
  4. Did you put them in the oven to help dry them quicker and perhaps leave them in there too long? That's the only thing that I can think of....
  5. thanks for the tip. now that I think about it, when I put some on my finger, within a few seconds, it starts turning oily and the oil coming out is the color of the jojoba...I have to get all of my supplies together - I just ordered from Camden Grey and it came today - it was so fast....now I have to order more jojoba and a few other things that I found recipies for...LOL I need to go through everything I have and make a list this time instead of relying on my old noodle to remember everything....I'd rather spend my money on supplies than shipping - plus I hate waiting for ...well anything and everything!! LOL:D
  6. eh - back to the drawing board - I want to try it again in my KA instead of the stick blender but I am out of jojoba oil right now so I have to order some more. It's really greasy too but I think that was just because I added too much FO...I had to cut the recipe down so much and had trouble getting the FO amt right - but it smells grea! (OM&H)
  7. I melted the CCB to liquid state and then drizzled it over the shea....
  8. I'll try another batch using my KA...what would be the best thing to use a stick blender for then?
  9. It worked OK...I wasn't even sure exactly what I was looking for - I am still just playing around and wanted to see what would do what....It wasn't fluffy...more on the thicker side. It was greasy too - I think I put in too much scent oil...but that's OK, I'm just glad it un-souped itself....(for now anyway)
  10. Never mind - I found an answer! Stuck it in the freezer for a few minutes.... Thanks for looking though!
  11. You're awesome! I just whipped it again and it looks more like pancake batter now...woohoo! I'm on my way! Thanks a million!!
  12. Cool...I just thought the same thing and put mine in the fridge...Let me go pop it in the freezer. Thanks!
  13. If anyone out there has made Sara's White Chocolate Bawdy Butter please help! I am whipping and waiting and whipping and waiting ....and my body butter is still liquid! I followed the recipe (just had to cut everything in half due to lack of enough jojoba oil) and it is pure liquid :embarasse I don't get what I'm doing wrong.....the only thing I can think of is that I am whipping too long or not long enough....I'm using a stick blender. Any ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated!
  14. I am trying this for the first time today...so far it looks nothing like body butter at all...very runny. When you whip it, how long do you whip for? Right now I only have the unrefined shea and ccb and it looks like melted butter.... :undecided
  15. That's OK - Thanks for getting back to me. I'm thinking I just used too much - I'll keep playing with it...that's the fun part right?
  16. Do you add the color before or after you transfer the balm to the pots? I did mine before, just like you said, toothpick and all. When it wasn't mixing in, I used a spoon...The lip balm itself is a great color and I'm happy with that, it's just the particles that didn't *mix* I will have to try again. Was your color on the thicker side or more liquid-y?
  17. Hi all, For any of you who have used the lip balm color from MMS did you find it hard to mix in? I used it for the first time today and thought it would be more of a liquid - it had the consistency along the lines of finger paint (that's the first thing that popped into my head when I opened it up). I don't know if I added it at the wrong time or didn't stir it in enough or what. Once I had everything melted, I added my flavoring and stirred that in, then added a little bit of the coloring. I stirred for about 2 minutes, but I couldn't get it to mix in completely. The color changed but there were still some "grainies" at the bottom. I transferred it to my little pots and the color was fine, but if you look at the bottom of the container, it is a lot darker and you can see that it's not completely dissolved or mixed in. Did I just not stir it long enough or could my liquids have been too hot when I added it? :undecided
  18. My brother is a grape freak and likes greatful dead bears (he has a purple one tattooed on his ankle) so I dipped that white bear in purple, scented him grape, and he is now referred to as the grape-ful dead bear in his house hehehehe. gotta love it!
  19. OK, I've been thinking again...maybe it is only the petroleum jelly consistency that I can't get right....that I can add the jelly to some things I already have. Has anyone ever made a lip balm with pertoleum jelly?
  20. The lip balm I am trying to duplicate is Balmy Nights by Victoria's Secret. I took the list of ingredients on the tin and tried looking each of them up by their INCI name, but was only partly successful. Some things I know what they are, but don't know if a supplier would actually sell them. If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would love you forever. I am addicted to this stuff and would love to be able to make it myself in other flavors. The ingredients are listed in the order they are on the tin and the ones in red are ones that I either am unsure about or just have no clue whatsoever.....there's free lip balm in it for whoever can help me crack Victoria's secret....:rolleyes2 Here goes: Polybutene (carnauba wax?) Hydrogenated Polyisobuttene Petrolatum (petroleum jelly) Ozokerite Porpylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate Octyldodecanol Stearyl Alcohol Aloe Barbadensis (aloe leaf juice) Leaf Extract Peppermint Oil Menthol Camphor Allantoin (allantoin powder?) Vit. E Acetate Vit. E Vit. A Palmitate Vit. C Palmitate Propylparaben Butylparaben Titanium Dioxide
  21. Hmmm...I don't have any Jojoba Oil....I have all this stuff and just wanted it to work LOL. I thought the same thing about the Shea butter when I was getting everything ready - I was sure that by not using it, the grainyness would be gone...
  22. Thanks for the tip....I'm weird though - I love lots of ingredients, even when I cook...makes me feel like I'm actually doing something LOL, but I'd rather have a good balm than a little giggle. With that recipe, does your lip balm come out on the harder or softer side? I am looking for something really soft - that once you get into it, it will just stick on your finger and coat your lips....if that makes any sense.... Edited to add: Yep, I made sure that everything was completely melted - took forever for the two waxes, but I made sure that it was completely liquid before I transferred to my little sample pots...
  23. I just used the following recipe for lip balm and it is SOOOO grainy - like there is sand in there! :lipsrseal Does anyone know what in my recipe would make this so grainy? 8g Candelilla Wax 8g Carnauba Wax 4g Sal Butter 12g Avocado Butter 13g Mango Butter 5g White Cocoa Butter 6g Illipe Butter 10g Emu Oil 10g Castor Oil 12g Shea Oil 12g Apricot Kernal 6g Flavor Oil
  24. Peak's is awesome - my brother is a grape freak and just drools over the one I have from Peaks
