Chandler hill candles

Hello all been so long since I have been here!!!!! I have worked with candles for over 16 years on and off, at times more on than off. I have always used the J223 type of wax. I am looking to dabble with some soy and wanted to get some 2 cents from the soy users on here. Perhaps some that may have used 223 and switched. I love the 223 wax scent throw, doesn't hang up on sides, does have some sinkage but I can deal with that. Any tips, advice, or opinions would be awesome.

I have a customer who love that marshmallow peeps smell from yankee anyone know a good marshmallow scent??

there is a most wonderful scent of a flower called Tea Olive and I was wondering if there is one out there.....

I do a lot of fundraisers for schools and groups I am doing one now for a cheer group 37 girls 6 scents. I would love figure out to do a scratch and sniff like yankee does for their fundraiser. I just wondered how yall did it some groups have done so many with me they dont ask for the smellies but this group does everytime but they also switch up scents and hard to tell them no when they do a big volume !!

I was wondering for those of you that do fundraisers what do you use for smelly samples? I have always use dipped q tips in labeled little baggies but they all still get to smelling alike.

I have a new customer gonna be a wholesale account and they sell park hill but i am local and they are gonna carry my candles. They have ALOT of requests for a scent called Sweet Tea from them and they said they can not get this scent. Has anyone heard of this scent and if so what is one similar to it??

Yep it's bad when the ups guy stops at the house and tells me he dropped my stuff off at my shop down the road or tells me don't forget you can meet me at so and so if you need it early. Lol

I just finished with a private school 11th grade fundraiser today they go out Tuesday for delivery. And also pouring for my big show on Saturday usually brings a very big crowd and I do very well known around the area. So it's been grapefruit mangosteen mango papaya lemon drop gardenia pomegranate. In a week been through 4 cases of wax so it all smells alike right this second!

Just curious do you all that makes tarts sell warmers too??!

Yes my mom used one for a normal burn and i did the power burn. Tested different size wicks. This was only one that turned out this way. So dont know but hey in my 10 years i have loved reading things people encounter being that in 10 years i have not come across this thought I would share it!

yes she supposedly at christmas and went out of town. came back to this. And I not only put warning label but also card in candles.

thanks not angry after 10 yrs making candles using same jar never had a problem. But this is what you get when you light a candle and forget and leave your home and such. I would say after 10 years of selling and making and testing and this is only complaint. This is why i make sure my customers know to trim your wick, dont leave unattended and always place something under your candle. This one burned out before she stopped it this is what she found.

No and person who sold this one also bought one like this and she did not have any problems. All candles have warnings and it says dont leave unattended trim wick. I just thought was interesting wanted to share because i have too left a candle burning and it burned my table it was A VERY Long time ago and was not my candle.

also this is a 16 oz hex

that is with j223 and it was Christmas Splendor heavy oil. And was tested several times. 539 candles made and 200 of them Splendor and only one like this

no that would be black smoke soot....this is what happens when you leave a candle burning unattended.....

I have been making candles for 10 years and can count on one hand the complaint or bad reviews. Over the holidays did a fund raiser for a group and the complaint i got was this. picture attached.... Thoughts on how this would be my fault that they burned their table??

Hello all! I have been a candle maker now for about 10 years. I have always went with my containers mostly but have played with votives and pillars. I do really well using 223 with my containers as I have always used that but the tart market around here is on scentsy. SO i have been trying my hand at the tarts. I am using IGI 4794. I used 1.5 ounce scent per pound of wax. Of course in my standing on my head to try it out I tested the next day after making peach nectar (CS). Not a very strong scent but then sometimes peach gags me so i would not want it to be. Do you let your tarts cure for 2 weeks before you try them?? Want to be able to smell them at home not over powering but still the same. That is a trait with my candles they smell the whole house up and they last. Thanks yall!
