I have been pulling my hair out trying to wick a 16 oz Smooth Mason chuncked. Here is what I've tried so far and nothing seems to be working for me, any suggestions?
44-32z - Wick burns alittle weak with very little throw
51-32z - Wick struggles, jar gets pretty hot and leaves hangup
CD10 - Wick struggles and jar gets really hot
I'm confused as to why if the wick is struggling so bad, why does the jar get so hot, but still leave hangup?
If I go up to a 60z, the jar is going to get even hotter and if I drop down to a CD8, the wick is going to struggle even more. I don't know which way to go at this point. Any suggestions? TIA Portia

I use Joy for my containers and I would think it would be so soft that it would make a real big mess on the inside of the bear with any movement at all. I personally wouldn't dip bears in it for that reason, that and it would be greasy to the touch. I normally use embed, pillar or votive wax for mine. JMHO,,,,,,Portia

If you will take a look at some suppliers warning labels, alot of them you can click on the enlarge it so that you can read the text. Some of them have the text typed out for you. HTH Portia

I made these last year and they were a big hit around here. I balled up melted wax into the balls, placed on top of each other slid a wick pin up through them. The only problem I ran into was that the balls of wax tend to slide before they get really cool. So, I had to keep reforming them until they completely cooled.
For the eyes, mouth and buttons, I used Peppercorns. His nose, I cut a piece of orange wax into a triangle/cone shape and stuck it in. Picked up some twigs and made the arms, then wrapped a scarf around his neck and placed a straw hat on his head. HTH Portia

Ouch! That's alot of "Mula" for just 2 days. I can understand it helping to support "Women", but what type of "Women" is it going to help would be my question. Yes, it would be great exposure for you, but man you'd have to sell ALOT to make back that kind of $, plus it sounds like your DH's weekend is busy enough as it is.
If it were me and you had to look to make enough back in just 2 days to cover the cost, I think I'd let it pass by. That is unless you have that kind of $ to spend for exposure. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping support "Women", but still, that's alot of $ to me for just 2 days. JMHO,,,,,,Portia

I was just curious as to what type of wax everyone uses for clamshells? I tried pouring some today using an Embed wax, not expecting it to shrink so bad, so I didn't save any for a repour. Everyone of them that I poured ended up with a major shrink hole or shrinking all around the cavities of them. Maybe I should use a different wax? TIA Portia BTW: I poured these at around 150-160 degrees.

I use this wax for my votives and haven't had any to "crack". Are they cracking during the burn or when? Give my specific info and maybe someone can help you more. Portia

Does anyone know of a good source to purchase the windowed cake boxes? I've searched and all I can find you have to buy them by the whole case of like 75 boxes in one size and I don't need that many. TIA Portia

How much wax did you use for the 1/2 oz fo? That looks like fo seeping out to me. This happens to me when I add too much fo to my 4045H mottle wax also. HTH Portia

I have searched every site that sells bottles and have yet to find and maybe I'm searching for something that doesn't exist. Does anyone know if you can get the shrink bands for 2oz, 4oz and 8oz bottles like the one's used for Linen Spray? TIA Portia

I haven't seen what you are talking about, but I have made rustic pillars and use a steel wire brush to the outside of it to acheive a similar look. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Portia

In my personal experience, the yellow are stronger and not quite as flexible. The purple is more flexible and makes an easier release. Personally, I prefer the purple one's, but I'm sure the yellow one's would last longer in the duration. Someone else with more experience will chime in. HTH Portia

I use NG's oils religously and I absolutely love the following bakery scents:
Strawberry Cheesecake
Blueberry Cobbler
Hot Baked Apple Pie
Sweet Potato Pie
Pumpkin Pie Spice
Cranberry Cobbler
Orange Juice Cake
Amish Friendship Bread
These are just a few off the top of my head. These are one's that I've gotten samples of and I hate I wasted the $2.50 for the samples.
Banana Nut Bread
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
Santa Snacks (WOULD NOT mix into the wax)

Does anyone have a good source (that you don't have to have a tax ID) for tin/rusty & cream/rustic plates for candle cakes and bears? I thought I have a few sources saved to my favorites and I've spent half the day looking for something and can't find them. TIA Portia
Remember those bakery scents?
