Peak's lilac? I need to order some wicks and might as well get a new FO or two while I am at it I'm going to miss all of my Christmas scents, but it will be nice to have a scent that reminds me of spring.(which takes a LONG time to come back where I live)
Sure does take a long time. The last couple days have been harsh. I thought the power steering in my car was shot. Have to let it warm up forever before I drive...Hope it is warmer this weekend.
p.s. Hope the lilac is nice. I use Bitter Creek's...let us know.

It's kinda a Green Bay Packers color. My husband would love it. I have not tried pillars yet. I really like the slant/angle of it too. Good Luck!

I'm looking for a good sampaquita f/o. I bought a "Root" candle a few months ago and would like to find a good oil in this scent. I can't seem to find this scent anywhere.
Thanks!

I could not have said it better. I started with 8 oz jelly jars. I could not believe the time it took to master them. I have yet to have sold one because I am such a perfectionist. I give them away to friends and people at work. They love them. I will however be selling them soon. Wish I could have taken advantage of the Christmas season, but I want them perfect. I have since started votives and wish I would have tried them first because they are easier. I also have become a f/o addict. I must have 35 different oils... I can't seem to help my self...you get my drift...

You could try their message board. I use their waxes and this board is helpful with specific questions about KY products. HTH.

Thanks...the water bath method worked excellent! The sediment has completely dissapeared.

I will try warming it up in a water bath. Thanks for the response.:highfive:

HTP 104 is what I use with soy in jelly jars, and it works great for me.
I also use htp's...try a 104 or 105 in this size jar if you have them.

I really love KY's votive wax. I have found I need to do a slight repour but I have had very few problems with this wax and I am quite new with votives.

Looks like great fun to me!
Which is your best indication not to try it.
LOL....

Just FYI...I made 8 oz jelly jars with KY's hot chocolate f/o. It's terrific in soy. Thinking of mixing it with their icy peppermint...maybe it would make a nice chocolate mint.

I've not tried JS's but I love KY's. My whole house smells like it.
I like a lot of JS's f/o's though, so let me know this one is good too.

I use a Performa 95 or 100 in my 16 oz canning jars.... I'm not sure why these don't get more exposure because I really like them in my KY125... and they are made by Atkins and Pearce, too.
eta the jars I use are a little under 3".
Christa
Huh...I also use KY125 with the KY115 and beeswax. I'll have to check out Atkins and Pearce.
Thanks...that's helpful too.

My experience with HTPs has been that the 126 is below the 1212 and then the 1312 is above that. I get better burn in a 3" square glass quilted jar with the 1312 than the 126, when using a heavy FO like a Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee.
I prefer the HTPs but if I get an in between like yours, where 105 is not enough but 126 is too much, I then will try out either the LX16, 18, or 20. I like the variety of sizes in the LX line. HTH!
the geek
That is what I thought too. I used a 1212 in the 3" jars and the flame was "crazy wild":shocked2: This was before I had some 126's. The 126's do seem quite a bit less hot to me...but I still would like something smaller. I don't have any experience with the LX's or cottons. I think I will go out of my comfort zone and try some of them.
Thanks for the input.

I use an htp 105 in my 2 1/2" jelly jars (8 oz.)...works perfect. I started a htp 126 in my new 3" pint jars (16 oz) this week. The 126's seem too hot in the 3" pints. The melt pool gets all the way to the glass in about an hour and a half. The 105's are not hot enough in the 3" pints. Wax hangs up even after 3 hours. I thought the 126's were one size up from the 105's. Am I wrong? I'm using the same soy wax and f/o's in these to compare. Has anyone used an htp wick that you think would fall in between these? I don't see one between these two on BC's website. That is the graph I used to pick out the 126's. The 105's have been perfect. Now I'm trying to create a larger sized candle and am struggling. Hmmmm... I bought the 105's from KY and the 126's from BC. Could they vary?
Sorry for all the questions...

I've never ordered from them, but from reading all the posts I can see that this supplier has a terrible track record. I'd rather pay more for a good product from a supplier I can depend on than pay less for a great product from someone who's going to let me down 50% of the time. I won't even attempt to order anything from Candlewic after reading this thread.

Ditto! There is nothing worse than poor customer service! I'm really glad I read this thread.

I hear you loud and clear! For the past month, every candle I make, with the exception of the 4 oz jj, has gotten sink holes and air pockets right next to the wick....every single one...this didn't happen to me EVER! I used to come on here and read about them, and not know what ppl were talking about.
I know now! MISERABLE!
I wish you all the luck in the world, believe me.
Fern-Marie
Getting Sink holes here too!

These are very nice. I'm happy to see you didn't stop posting pictures for us to see.

:highfive: Thanks for all the ideas. I didn't think about the whole heat dissipation idea...never was too good at physics. Maybe I'm just a bit too paranoid about injuring a customer. Interesting to hear that even the Yankee candles have issues. I think I'll buy some of each and test what happens with the wax I use.

Thanks Breanna for the welcome...I live in southeastern Minnesota with my husband, 3 cats and 3 horses. I started making candles a few months ago as a creative outlet and possible small business in the future. I have learned a lot since finding this board. Everyone here is so helpful. :smiley2:

I just have to say that candle holder is about the coolest idea I've seen. Maybe I don't get out enough? Welcome to a cool board. I'm new here too and have learned tons!

Everyone is so helpful...you guys rock!
Thanks!

Thanks...I'll check it out today before I go to work. I have looked before but not recently. I suppose your Wal-Mart may carry different stuff than the Red Wing-Minnesota one. Thanks for your advice.:highfive:
p.s-I love Corpus Christi...I was there when I was 13...what a nice city! I bet it's warmer than Minnesota today...lol.

Wow! Guess I'm not the only one who can't find this scent. Looks like I may be out of luck.:undecided
