  1. I haven't done many baby shower candles but I always do a mix of Baby Powder and something sitting on the shelf. For example I mixed Baby Powder with Flannel Sheets and named it after a baby girl. The mom always asks for Arielle candles when she orders from me. She is the only one I make this unique mix for.
  2. Didn't they use to throw an AH pen in with the candy? Or am I just dreaming that? I missed the sample sale. :embarasse
  3. I have used many in gel with great results: Hot Apple Pie, Eucalyptus Blend, Welcome Home, Flannel Sheets, DreamCatcher, Mandarin Twist, Winter Wonderland and Flower Child. I am just starting to try them in EZ Soy. These had good results so far: Eucalyptus Blend, Mandarin Twist, Flannel Sheets, Winter Wonderland and Hot Apple Pie. I just wish they were closer. I love their oils!!
  4. I use a candle warmer from Michaels. I melt the scrap at the bottom of my jar after burning the candle down to the bottom. Yesterday I had a cinnaminny scent fill the whole house (2500 sq ft!!) which is more than it did when I burned it. The gel on the bottom melts to a thick syrup because that is where the heat source is, but the sides really don't.
  5. My husband HATES when I pour White Tea and Ginger. He says it smells like stale beer!
  6. I have used Rustic and BCN. I wasn't impressed with either. Rustic was more banana-y than nut bread, but not very strong in the gel. I didn't experiment much with it, so temp and wick might effect it too.
  7. Do you have high quality photos to begin with? If so Photoshop can help. If not, it might not help you. Is this for print or internet? If its print you will want to make the photo CMYK and if for internet you will want to make it RGB. Go to the tab Image-Mode and change the format to the appropriate one. Now if the colors need adjusting go to tab Image-Adjustments-Levels and adjust the overall color or change to a specific channel and add or subtract just that color. That should get you some better looking photos. Go to Save As and save as one of many file formats. JPEGS or GIFS for internet, EPS or Tiff for print. Photoshop is SO complex and there are SO many creative things you can do with graphics with it. No one is really an expert at it. The only real way to learn Photoshop is to play with it and experiment. HTH
  8. I have 3 Presto pots: one for gel, one for container soy and one for votive soy. I usually set it just above the warm setting which is about 200 degrees. I don't trust the temp gauge, so I always use a thermometer to keep track of my temps. Congrats on the candle room. We have another month or two left on our new home and I have a shop all to myself in the basement. i can't wait to get my candle stuff out of storage and play!!
  9. I found a local beekeeper supply company who has them very cheap, but I am in Minnesota. Maybe you have one nearby??
  10. In my very tiny old house I was in the kitchen. We are in the process of building a house right now. My husband made sure to create a space for me in the heated basement. He hated my messes in the kitchen. I will have a wash tub, stove and LOTS of shelves and tables. He even put in extra outlets for me when he was wiring my new shop. I can't wait to move in!
