When you make bath and body products do you have to put the ingredients on the product or can you put them on a tag attached to the product? Thanks in advance!

Just made lotion for the first time and can't figure out how to label the weight. The lotion tubes were sold as 2 ounces but it took 3 ounces of lotion to fill them. I searched the B&B forum but am still a little confused......do I label them 2 ozs net weight or 3 ounces fluid weight? HELP!

I have only made candle melts and clamshells and want to try my hand at pouring 8 ozs tins. I will be using 6006 wax......never used this before and hope it is a good choice. I was hoping someone could help me with the best wick sizes to buy. I will be purchasing the tins from CandleScience and most of my FO's come from them and Peaks. Thanks so much!!

I did find a nice mold for my cubes but still have not found a good wax combo with a strong hot throw yet. I have tried the soybean and mineral oil but the hot throw is still not as strong as the melts I make with my parasoy blend. Love the idea of the chunk loafs and mixing scents and will keep testing...hate it when I can't figure something out LOL!!

Daisymae all of my labels are in color and I use a mini wireless printer from Epson. It is the Epson Stylus NX430 and the color cartriges are very reasonable and you only have to replace the one that is empty not all at one time. They run around $17 each and I get a lot of color printing from them. I love this printer because it is wireless and small ....I keep it on my kitchen counter because it is connected to my laptop which I am always using in the living room. I love to design and print my labels at night while I watch TV. It is also a scanner, copier and prints beautiful pictures. I think Epson has repaced this model with a newer one called the Epson Expression Home XP 410 and I will post a link for it below. When I bought mine it was only $54.00 the newer model is around $79.00 at Staples. How soon after making your tarts/melts do you package them? I do made to order and would like to try ready to ship on my website but don't want to just leave them out in the open. I do use polypro bags. Thanks, Gloria

Good Morning! Do any of you use glassine bags for your tarts? I make wax scented cookies and they would look so cute in these bags. I have searched the forum but couldn't find an answer.....will the bags preserve the scent if they are stored this way?

Daisymae we love you!!! My best sellers especially around the holidays are bakery scents. Sugar Cookie, Birthday Cake, Pecan Waffles, Blueberry Muffins, Banana Muffins, anything Pumpkin, just to name a few. Hope this helps!

Dawn I have been testing waxes for the sliceable candles for awhile and still have not come up with a combo I like. I have tried 4627/6006 blend which comes the closest to what I'm looking for in texture but ......the cold throw was excellent but not so good of a hot throw which is most important. The waxes you mentioned are all good ones to test. It's all trial and error which takes lots of time and lots of money down the drain. That is why once you get a really awesome wax recipe it is very hard to share especially if you are selling your products. Just keep testing and you will find a combo that is all yours! Thought I would share this neat mold I found for my sliceable chunky candles. I haven't ordered it yet but I have some of their other molds and they are very flexible and I'm sure a softer wax would release very easy from it. Gracey I went back and tested one of my tarts and it smells amazing! I think what happened is I was testing so many different wax blends with this fragrance that my nose was numb to this scent and I had to get away from it for a few days. I think it will be one of my favorites too!

Hi Karen, I've tried it in my favorite blend of paraffin/soy and it just didn't throw as well as my other scents. It did have a stronger scent in my 4625/4630 blend but only lasted about 5 hrs. I always add FO at 180 degrees stir for about 3 minutes then pour. Should I be adding at a higher temp?

I wanted to add a good birthday cake scent to my melts and bought Peaks. I cannot get a good strong hot throw in any of my wax blends with this FO, I have even tried a 12% fragrance load instead of my usual 10%. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Ravens like I was telling JustaJesuschick I have my trusty messy backup recipe which throws just as well. After reading all the posts I worry about what my next shipment will be like. The two waxes I used before TCS are always available from many suppliers even though it is quite messy! Have enjoyed reading all your posts too! You two ladies really know your waxes! Gloria

Thanks Karen! I know what you mean about only one supplier having this wax. I do have my trusty backup recipe which is messy too but throws just as well. The reason I switched was I was trying to make my life a little less messy LOL! I have enjoyed reading alot of your posts......and I love your avatar! From one Jesus chick to another!

It's the one that reads, Tart blend to make tarts or scent trays. Does it look like the blend you used?

Hi Everyone! Kind of a newbie here but not to candle making, mostly wickless. I have seen many posts about The Candle Source tart wax and thought I would put in my 2 cents worth since this is the wax I have used for my tarts for almost a year and I love it. I do mix it with a little soy because I like a creamy looking tart. The hot and cold throw is the best I have found and I have tried many different blends. I have added a picture of the last batch of wax I received in Dec, the pellets are all different shapes and sizes. Hopes this helps with the confusion about this wax. Blessings, Gloria
