  1. does anyone know where to find Japanese plum FO I have looked everywhere!! ty any help is much appreciated.
  2. I used soy in the beginning but to be honest it just IMO not a pretty wax, I do use palm and a parasoy blend that I love to death but the pure soy was just not for me the throw was ok but the candles themselves were not that exciting. no one has ever asked me what wax I use and it has never been a point of selling for me maybe its my location but the customers truly don't seem that concerned with it. they do want a clean burning candle that looks and smells great. I posted this because I have seen many soy candle sites saying that paraffin was a much cheaper wax than soy, I pay $170 with shipping for a 55lb case of my paraffin wax and the palm is like $125,my soy (when iused soy) seemed to be a heck of a lot cheaper but it was just to difficult to work with and I never got the scent throw that I was after.
  3. Im really not sure as I just started playing with the zincs but I do have some left over 223 that I could try it and post results, I believe if memory serves me right J223 was one of the first waxes that I tried ,J223, J225 right in a row, I still have quite a bit left of both so I can play a bit with them. If I can never wick the CB 30 im using right now, I plan on getting some palm wax and see how that goes for me.
  4. I have candle source wax for sale, tart and container blend I have almost a full case of tart and over half case of container will sell all for 50 bucks, you pay shipping, I tried it and went back to my dreaded-cant be wickd CB30 lol...I need to go through all my FO's, as I have a ton to sell and I will let them go cheap. I just need a day or two to go through them all. Im such a creature of habit
  5. Yes EmJean I have sent off 2 of the jars already a 31oz libby smooth side and the 20oz tureen, one scent was berry crème Brule and the other one was spice crumb cake, I have tried for over a year to wick these and so far have been unsuccessful. I sent the jars out on Thursday and got notification that they have arrived, I will keep this post updated with the results. The good news is wicks unlimited is in FL and Im in Alabama so not to much shipping cost.
  6. I keep reading on soy candle web sites that soy is much more expensive than paraffin wax, " paraffin is a cheap alternative" I guess I must be getting my wax (cb30 4627) from the wrong distributors because my paraffin is much more expensive than the soy- cb3, eco soy, 464, 415 ummm pretty much all the soy!! so my question is WHERE the heck is the cheap paraffin hanging out these days???? and why wasn't I told about it....lol
  7. Oh thank heavens, I will try them!!! Thank you. Yes it would be way cheaper and easier but I hate being beaten especially by a wax, I have tested 4627, 4630, 6006, all the J waxs, CB3, 415, 444, CW5065, Cw5468,pretty much all the eco soys on the market and I have yet to find one that I like as well and I end up with cases/ slabs. So I decided to commit myself to only one and master it even if it kills me !!! probably not the most logical but then again I have never been accused of good sense.
  8. Heehee indeed Oldglory you are correct in thinking this and ive asked myself that a million times!!! My mother told me to choose a different husband 15 years ago, one that was easy to work with and work on but I stuck with him and haven't looked back, I feel that once I get over the rough spots, I know I'll have a winner!!! (and blackened walls) HAHA! ive come this far, may as well see it through.
  9. My question is, is there such a thing as a company that can wick a container candle for a fee? If so Im in desperate need!!!! I use an odd ball wax which from what I understand is at the best of times hard to wick (CB30) the single wicking was easy 8oz jelly jar, my other two jars are killing me, 20 oz tureen and a 31 oz smooth side jar, no matter what FO load or Dye load either they soot or they sputter and die out, I have tried LX, Premiers, CDS, HTPS, ECO, Hemp and zinc so far zinc has worked the best but I still have small sooting to the top and they dance a bit and I have tried every size!! backed down to 1/2 oz FO even though the wax is rated at a 15% load. Its a gorgeous wax and I don't want to give it up!!! but ive spent over 8 grand in a bit over a year and still no real progress, not to mention the 2400 it cost me to repaint the interior of my house LOL my husband is going to kill me one of these days, im sure of it.
  10. A little story to tell you about perseverance, 4 and half yrs ago I purchased a Percheron/Frisian colt at 6mos of age his breeder told me he was to short (height) and had a nasty temperament (rare for a draft/cold blood) but I loved his fire in my mind he was all heart, so I posted pics of my boy on a horse forum when he was about two yrs old and let me tell you what these women tore me and my horse apart, called him short, fat, big headed, said he toed out, called me unknowledgeable about horses, called him a mutt and everything you could think of under the sun. Percheron breeders said he was crap, Frisian breeders said he should have been aborted they told me on both sides he would never be able to compete with their pure breeds (which is hilarious to me because most horses have been crossed with other breeds to make "purebreds") anyway we pushed on and on October 19th we suited up our boy with tack and harness and he competed against 14 percherons, 9 belgiums and 5 Clydesdale on a single horse pull competition. he out pulled EVERY single one of them!!!!! yes even the mighty, mighty percheron! I was so scared that day and I almost withdrew him from the competition when I saw what he was competing against, but ive come to realize that it was never in Apollos size and brute strength. it was in his heart, so today I sit with my horse and my trophy sticking my tongue out at all those that ridiculed him. And yes I will be out again next year with him and the year after and the year after.......people are bullies their product/children/pets/husbands/friends/family are all better than yours!!! this is what they want you to believe as it eliminates the competion
  11. Hi Dessa, I sent in fresh Balsam from Bath&B small sample of the wax from the candle, as I looked everywhere for it no one had one even close, savon on scents hit it right on the nose, they don't have integrity pumpkin pie scent, you have to send in a sample and they make the oil from there, the cost isn't much and they don't have a huge minimum. and always buy extreme when you can as it is soooo worth the extra money.
  12. Savon on scents can dupe the scent with great accuracy, I use them all the time (pumpkin pie)
