  1. I used the Pumpkin Nog in soy @ 7%. It was really weak and kinda flat smelling.
  2. Is anyone here able to compare this to the Blackberry Musk from BNL that BC now carries??
  3. I think that Eucalyptul Lavender from EL smells like it to me.
  4. I don't know why you would wait to add fo at all. The hottest you need to any vegetable wax is 180. And that would be just to add uv inhibitors, some addatives or powdered dyes. If you add 4 oz of fo to a 4 lb batch, you will lose 10 degrees or so. Stirring will further lower the temp. Mostly heating to about 165 is enough. You need to add fo at at least 150 degrees for proper blending. HTH
  5. Any suggestions on a nice peppermint to be used in soy at no more than 7%? TIA
  6. I think it definately does if overdone. Not to mention that if you really overdo it if will cause that swirly frosting on the tops of your jars. Those heat guns can get over 500 degrees and if you are melting a cold candle down to a 1/4 in melt pool to fill in craters, I think you are just getting them too hot and causeing the wax there on the top to breakdown and thus lose scent and "frost". If you have to heat gun the tops, I reccomend filling in the holes when the candle is still warm. It seems that it is not only faster but doesn't have the side effects. HTH
  7. I don't know of any stearic acid made from soy either. The majority of stearic acid around is made from animal fat. Unless it says palm or vegetable stearic, that is probably what it is.
