  1. Use the chart on their site to help you decide where to start. This is what I did.

I can't remember what the site is right off hand but just click on the 700 series and it will direct you to the wicking chart.

I have the chart but it suggests 9 different sizes for 2-3" container.

Was just wondering if anyone uses them and has suggestions so I don't have to test them all.

  2. Hi everyone,

I just received a whole box of samples from Wick It and I can't

dedide where to begin. I make container candles 2.5" diameter.

I use J50 and usually scent heavier than 1oz per pound.

    I have been using 51-32-18z or 44-24-18z I find that 51z

soots and mushrooms too much but has a great melt pool.

The 44z has much less soot and mushrooming but the melt pool

is minimal and leaves wax hang up on the sides of the jar.

OK now you know my life story, my question is which size

Premeir 700 would you start with to try and go between those

    two zinc wicks?

Thanks for any and all input :highfive:

  3. Ebay is tough! I don't know how and where these people are getting their products and selling so cheap:undecided

I have searched online wholesale companies and just found a bunch of frauds! That is why is just wanted to sell my candles, but it seems Yankmee are the only ones selling. (they suck) :angry2:

I guess I just have to keep researching

    Thanks

I've been watching sales of candles on eBay - it seems to be kind of so-so. The problem with eBay is that everyone wants a bargain, and to get most people's attention in a market like that, your prices have to be so low that you probably don't make much. In my other endeavors, I've generally had to start items for sale below wholesale to generate the interest, and then sometimes they don't make it back above wholesale even. eBay is a tough marketplace in general for any kind of home crafting - it's hard to compete with the big guys on price, and that's mostly what eBay is all about.
  4. Has anyone smelled this FO? I ordered a full pound

just based on the desrcription and I am soooo disapointed.

It actually smells like dirt to me. I don't think I'm crazy, but

it really smells BAD. Maybe I got a bad batch or something?

Let me know what ya'll think

  5. Hi everyone. I heard about these wicks a while back here.

I was wondering if anyone has tested in J50 2-3 in diameter

containers or anything close? I requested a sample about 3 weeks

ago and have not heard anything. Also anything on the superior 600

    series??

    TIA

    Trisha

Feel free to PM me if ya want

  6. I use the exact same wax and wick combo in 8oz jelly jars. There

is always mushrooming with the first burn. Other fo's burn a

little better with only one trim and then they never mushroom again?

I can't figure it out so I just deal with it because so far this has

been the best combo for me:rolleyes2

I have read that all wicks will either mushroom or smoke so just use

what works best or makes you happy so you don't spend a fortune

    like I did

  7. If you like J223 why not just order it from somewhere else.

Bitter Creek and Lone Star I know carry it. Why stray away from

a wax you like because of where you order it from.

Just my opinion. Unless you're looking for something new?:undecided

  8. I think this is what my candles have. I use J50 and 8oz jj

and every one of my candles have clear spots all around the

container. It's more visible with darker colors. Are these wet spots

or just wax separating from the jar? How do you fix this? I heat

my jars and still the same:undecided Does the temp. of the jar have

    anything to do with it

  9. I use J50 and have never had problems with purple. What kind of dyes are you using?

I get my purple liquid and all others from Candle Science. It just seems like I have to add way too much to get a good dark purple. I usually have to add a lot of black to it other wise it comes out Barney purple
