  1. Tell them that they can be part of your company and open a store with your name on it for a $10,000 fee, just like a cheaper version of opening your own McDonald's. With that fee comes all of your knowledge and information.
  2. Just a dumb question from a male of the species, butt, what are tea lights for and how are they supposed to be used? I have never used one, just curious.
  3. Don't you mean crazier? hahahaha, I am soooooooo funny looking. =8)
  4. I cannot tell you why this is happening, but here a couple of possible solutions. Maybe heat your mold near the wick hole before inserting the screw. This cold weather might shrink the mold just enough. Would not take much shrinkage to cause this. If that does not work, maybe use a slightly smaller screw.
  5. What exactly do you mean by "there is a bent on all sides"? Does your candle bulge in the middle? Maybe add a picture, might help more to see it.
  6. Thank you all so much for this valuable info. It will be put to good use.
  7. Well, my search for candle flowerpot, flower planter, and candle flower pot were unsuccessful. Hopefully someone else has tried this. If you have, or have any good ideas, please speak up.
  8. So nobody knows where to get the cups (not reusable molds) at a decent price? I am just curious because I can buy tea lights in bulk for a good price and I wonder if it would cost more to make them than to buy them.
  9. Run the outside/bottom mold under hot water. Be careful you do not cut the heck outta yourself on the edges of the molds, some votives can be painfully sharp.
  10. My sister has a large apothecary jar that she wants me to make into a candle. It is about 1.5 feet tall and 1.5 feet wide and is a circle. The glass is very thick and I do not think heat would crack it. I am gonna put it in the oven and see if that cracks it. I brought this up to a couple of my candle burning hippie friends and their eyes got as big as saucers and one actually drooled, which makes me think there is a market for such an outlandish creation. Anyway, have any of you folks ever attempted anything to this magnitude? If so, what were the results? Have any suggestions on the number of wicks or any other insights to consider before attempting this great feat of greatness? Hmm, I wonder if that could smother someone in a poorly ventilated house with all of the exhaust gases. I might go broke filling it with wax. I will be melting and pouring wax all night, in seperate batches, maybe I could use many different colors. 6 wicks would be 3 yards of wick. Do they make 1 inch wick tabs? Maybe I could make my own wick tabs . I better shut up before I talk myself out of trying this...
  11. Do you guys use tea light molds (reusable), remove the tea light and reuse the mold, or do you buy the individual tea light metal/plastic containers and just sell them as is, mold and all? What is good price for the containers/1000? Where is a good place to buy them at a good price?
  12. I think your "mess ups" look pretty cool.:highfive:
  13. Thanks for the responses, I really enjoyed the answers and a few made me laugh. The depth of knowledge and the fact that you are willing to share it so freely is amazing. I am definitely going to order a kit to start with and I am not nearly as paranoid about using my kitchen (with a fire extinguisher and a few fans) as I was before. I will be staring with votives and a few small pillars to start with and I will post my results with pictures some time next week. Once again, thanks a ton for your helpfulness and encouragement.
  14. I did a search on google for "aroma wax" wholesale, "aroma wax" distributor, "aroma wax" supplier and found nothing. Searched on "aroma wax for sale" and got a hit from the Target site. Maybe you could go to a local Target store, find one of the aroma wax products and get a website off of the product packaging, or at least an address or phone number.
  15. Maybe you could use two molds, a horse and an angel with wings. Just fill the wings part on the angel and then put the two together to make one pegasus. Maybe...
