  1. The Holiday Sparkle reminded me of CS Grapefruit & Mangosteen. I blended it with Spruce Xmas Tree. Smells pretty good in GlasGlow tarts. By itself I didn't like it much - CS Grapefruit & Mangosteen is stronger IMO. I haven't tried the CS Plumberry Spice yet so can't compare to that.
  2. I also combine Peaks Cinnamon, Bayberry, & CS Mac Apple = Bayberry Apple Cinnamon!:smiley2: Awesome Seller.
  3. I use it too! I also call it Cinnaberry!
  4. The Gingered Pumpkin from JBN is now called "pumpkin souffle". I called and asked about it. I have bought it from them as well and it is the same fo. So glad they didn't drop it - it's a big seller for me.
  5. Yes, I have had that problem in my store. I live in a despressed area in Southwest PA, and I acknowledge that by offering the lowest price I can offer on everything I sell. Yet, I still had one particular customer that asked for a discount every single time she came in my store. I asked her one day if she did that everywhere she went and she said "yes". I then asked if she was given a discount when she asked for it, she responded, "sometimes" - she said it may only be 10% but she would get something. I told her I did not offer such discounts because my prices were already set as low as I could afford. This lady was well dressed, drove a new vehicle and obviously did not need a discount. She just did it because she could. She doesn't come into my store anymore, she proved to be more of a problem customer than just asking for discounts. But she was the only person that has asked. So you may not run into many that will ask, but there will be some. I wonder if it's her??? LOL
  6. For anyone that may have liked the Gingered Pumpkin from Just by Nature as much as I did, Southwest Candle Supply says have it and they re-named it to "Pumpkin Souffle". Yay!
  7. I had ordered some Battery Operated candles from a company in Canada just before Xmas last year and I was shocked at the shipping cost! I hadn't requested any special time frame or anything. Wasn't prepared for Custom's Fees and such! Ouch! It took quite a while for that order to come in too, now I can understand why. Good luck with this new customer!
  8. I wish I could. I'm planning on picking up a new camera this week-end. I've never posted pictures here before but I will give it a try.
  9. This is kind of hard to explain. It's not the tarts that get fluffy and it's not the powder from scooping out of the bag when I make tarts. You know when someone says they get a build-up of carbon on their walls, etc. when they burn a lot of candles? This is kind of the same thing only it's white fluffy type stuff thats accumulates on the walls, ceilings, etc. all around the area where the customers are melting tarts in their melters. It doesn't happen right away, but over a period of time. Ironically, two of the customers that said they would'nt buy my tarts anymore came back today and bought tarts!! They said after buying so many others that weren't as good - that mine are worth the "mess" as they put it. I'm thinking the melting wax/fo just sticks to dust that is already on the walls and makes it more visible, but customers don't like that explanation. In my work room I noticed this same type stuff up under the shelf above my melting pot. But it appears to be clinging to cobwebs and such.
  10. Thanks for the replies. The "fluffiness" I'm referring to is not the tarts themselves, but fluffy cobweb like stuff that builds up all around the walls, ceilings, furniture etc that are sitting near the melter. When the first person complained, I explained that I felt the wax was simply attaching itself to whatever dust particles and such that were in that particular area. Then I had two other customers that complained of the same thing, so much so that they would not buy my tarts any longer. These customers said they didn't have this issue with other brands of tarts, so I had to wonder if it's the palm wax, I hadn't thought to question them on the particular fragrance they might have been melting, maybe certain fragrances are the culprits. I was just curious if anyone else had similar experiences and if you might agree that it simply wax and fragrance clinging to dust particles. Sorry I can't post pics, I have to shop for a new camera, mine was damaged over the week-end.
  11. I use Glass Glo for my tarts, I sell a lot of them and I get great feedback. Customers say they last and last - but I have had a few complaints that they leave a fluffy build-up on things around them. Has anyone else had this happen or know what causes it? I noticed a build-up like this under the shelf where I have my wax pot, but we have a spider web issue in the store room. I thought the wax was just clinging to invisible webs. But one customer has a children's store and said it was all over the clothing that was hanging near their melter. Any ideas?
  12. Right. The one I got from Candlewic was the Crystal Palm.
  13. Hi Steve. The pellet form is much nicer to deal with than the powdery form but it doesn't seem to set up the same for me. I emailed Aztec - will see what they have to say. Right now I just blended some feather wax in with it and it does come out of the souffle cups now. I only use this for tarts so as long as I can work with it I'll be ok, but my tarts pay my rent here so I definitly don't want to change what ain't broke! GlassGlow has proven to be the best wax for my tarts.
  14. I recently ordered a case of glassglow from Aztec. Great price by the way. I openned it today and although it is labeled glassglow it's not! It sets up like the palm wax Candlewic carries. The glassglow I have always bought from Candlescience and Candles & Supplies is powdery and flakey - this is little tiny beads like the featherwax. I use glassglow for my tarts. I've tried Candlewics palm and it won't come out of the little souffle cups. This does the very same thing and looks exactly like it. Going to contact Aztec on Monday, anyone else have this problem? The bag is labelled IGI R-2322 Glassglow.
  15. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles right now too. I agree it will get better although it's a real bummer now. In regards to your flower candles - I have never seen anything like that before -they are gorgeous! Keep your ornery little smiley face going!
  16. I blended the Amish Friendship Bread with the Prairie Kitchen for tarts and I sell out every time. Smells like almond cookies.
  17. Ok, I just read another post regarding this subject. I am going to Candles & Supplies to order. Thank goodness someone is still carrying it. I am not willing to give it up.:smiley2:
  18. I went online to order Glass Glow from Candlescience and thee is a bright yellow highlighted box that states that they are discontinuing all palm waxes due to environmental issues! I use Glass Glow for my tarts! Now what?
  19. I blend Peaks Spruce Xmas Tree and Peaks Fireside 50/50 and named it Country Hearth and it sells like crazy! I "love" Peak's Fireside but I couldn't give it away - but blended like this it sells!
  20. My #1 right now is Just by Nature's Gingered Pumpkin, #2 is JS Chestnuts & Brown Sugar, followed by Peaks Amish Harvest and Candlescience's Mac Apple. Gingered Pumpkin is out-of-stock right now, they said probably 10 days til they get it back.
  21. Hi. I haven't tried to grubby a pillar with Palm, but I recently used some Glass Glo and whipped it to make some sugar cookies. It turned chalk white and cracked. It didn't work at all. And I have also used Palm wax in silicone molds and it doesn't work too well in that either. Palm is hard to get out of silicone molds and it leaves a white coating on the molds.
  22. I recently ordered Gingerbread Man and Satin Sheets and no problems with either of them.
  23. I used the Sugared Corn Pudding in Glass Glow for tarts, and it doesn't smell as well as the sample Vickie sent me. I scent my tarts very strong, at 15%. I guess it is one of those scents that won't do well in Palm.
