WOW. Those are awesome

That can happen if you don't stir it immediately. I've had that happen before and I've had to chunk it up in the water with my spoon before pouring into the oils. I now make sure I stir stir stir really well

If your budget will allow I recommend the FCS Hobby cutter. It's spendy but worth it.
If it's not in your budget, or you just are playing around right now, you might want to try a mitre box like it was suggested.
HTH
I got one of these last year and am in LOVE. But I think Kimberly is selling a nice one in the classifieds too

Well my first try at diluting is going OK. It's taken me a few days to get around to it! I don't think it's going to be very clear, but that's OK with me. I'll post pics when it's done

Brenda you make the most amazing soap
-
Looks nice AJ. I'm not fond of that scent though

I got my first batch of liquid soap almost done now. At least the paste stage. I don't think I'll get to dilute tonight, but hopefully within the next few days. This is pretty cool if it turns out

Wow that's very cute

Dryer sheets are you friends when dealing with lye!
I take a sheet and rub the rim oh my lye container and also the Solo cup that I am pouring into...no problems since!
Yup. I rub all around the inside, outside, and rim several times and don't have a problem. And that, and the cup is thrown into a garbage bag that I immediately take outside to the big trash can along with the newspaper from under the scale

Another hint. I take a dryer sheet and wipe the inside AND outside of the cup I'm measuring in to help with static. Works like a charm. I use disposable big paper coffee cups to measure my lye in

Jackie that is freaking awesome:highfive:

I've tried ones that people say were tingly, but I've never felt it. And I tried

I use mine mostly for cooking but I do use it for my scrub and smaller batches of lotion. But I did have a Sunbeam one that I was pleased with until my sweet husband surprised me with the colbalt blue Kitchen Aid Artisian I have been wishing for. I actually cried

I recently watched a show where they did this. The extruders were pretty cool!

I posted about this a couple of months ago. Registration has ended, unfortunately. It's on March 17th

Why do all the recipes have a preservative? I thought you only needed that if you were adding water or milk??? I must be wrong, eh?
My scrub doesn't have water or milk and I preserve it. Better safe than sorry I say

I'll be there and would like to meet you! I'm doing a scrub demo

I don't care for it.
I like my scrub I make from scratch, even though it isn't foaming, everyone loves it.
Me too. I tried it and felt I could come up with something myself. My scrub IS foaming/bubbling and it's great. I've tried FBB that other people have sent me and it either dries me out terribly or the sugar gets all eaten up.

A lot of people use my lotion bars or even pure unrefined shea.

Good luck. I made my first last weekend. I'm still having problems with the dilution though
