  1. Thanks Vicky! I have another question and I apologize for asking so many of them! I have seen some double glassed candles where tealight candles were used in the inner container therefore making it a "forever" candle? Have you tried that? I was curious if that was done and no scent was in the tealight if it would heat up the surrounding gel enough that it could be scented. Something I need to try! Thanks for the tutorial, it does seem a lot easier now! Chris
  2. I have looked and looked thru here trying to find out where to get the small containers from. Can anyone shed some light on this? These look very cool by the way! Thanks! Chris
  3. Nevermind, made some, tested at a campfire and they burned for 8-10 minutes, got the wood started and they are good to go!
  4. Has anyone made these out of gel? Or can you even make them out of gel? Thanks!
  5. Very nice & congrats on your sales! I have an off the wall question for you, where did you run across the flat "driftwood" pieces? I have been looking all over the internet for some to make signs with. Thanks in adavance! Chris
  6. I keep the embeds suspended and put them in the oven at 170 degrees for a few hours. Almost all bubles will disappear but just keep an eye on it. I accidently left one in overnight and ALL the bubbles were gone. I don't suggest doing that though!
  7. I bought Ocean Breeze and Sea Spray from RE and they both remind me very much of the beach!
  8. Hi Dave, Thanks for the response, but I was actually referring to the crimps folks use on gel candle wicks to prevent the flame from reaching the sand or whatever the base may be and now after re-reading my message, probably should have said metal jewelry beads instead of crimps. I bought my wicks already pre-made but am just tyring to figure out what size bead to put on them to stop the flame. I'm gonna guess here and say I should probably take a wick with me to Michaels and measure it that way? Thanks again! Chris
  9. I have read thru the forums looking for this answer but did not find it anywhere. I'm hoping someone can help me. I read that a lot of you use metal jewelry crimps for your wicks, but how in the world do you determine what size to get? I'm using 60-44-18Z wicks. I realize the first number is the wick size but how do you get the right crimp for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Chris
  10. How do you find out how much you can make without having a business license?
  11. Wlecome! This place is full of information and really nice folks willing to help us "newbies" out!
  12. That's what I was thinking but was just curious if anyone else had seen this. Thanks much!
  13. My SIL asked if I could maker her some candles for the table center pieces for her wedding. She came over yesterday and helped with the design and such. Here's what we came up with. The theme is Love & Direction so they wanted compasses and hearts. They also have a dog, hence the hanging dog tags. Thanks! Chris
  14. Hi Everyone, I am making some gel candles for a wedding and after I cut the thread holding the embeds in place, noticed there were some bumps on the top of the candle. I can't say I've noticed these before so I was wondering if they will go away or is there something I can do to make them go away. I've attached a picture. Thanks! Chris
  15. Boy was I over thinking things! Our name is H&N Gel Creations so I am thinking of offering gel candles, gel decor and gel collectibles (it's a football thing), with only putting wicks in the "candles". We'll see what happens!
  16. I hope to be making a college football theme gel candle. Already did tests on some hard plastic mini helmets and goal posts, just waiting for the crystal football to come in! this one will be for myself and will never get heated up as long as I am alive! :smiley2: Chris
  17. I was talking more along the lines of totally calling it something else and it not getting heated up until, well, a long time! You know, making them for decoration only. Thanks! Chris
  18. Bernadette, I appreciate the response and trust me, I didn't take it the wrong way. I have actually done a bit of searching on them here but didn't find what I was looking for in regards to the gel candles. Guess I need to search harder! Thanks! Chris
  19. Thanks! I apologize for all the dumb questions, but I am still relatively new at this. Hope you all undestand! Chris
  20. I actually meant to say, what type is used for the inner glass. Sorry!
  21. What type of glassware do you use to make a Forever Candle with gel? Any ideas? Thanks! Chris
