  1. These are the same ones I used when I poured wax into cups. I also used some that were black. I've been told that they are supposed to have a #2 on the bottom and some I bought did have that and some didn't. I bought from two suppliers though and Solo was one of the brands I got and the #2 that's on the bottom is very small. I bought some off of ebay and the #2 is large. I'm not sure if it matters. I couldn't tell a difference in how they performed. Hope this helps!

  2. I'm very new to tart/candle making, but have ordered from several suppliers. I guess most have good oils and also duds but I think I've had the best luck so far with the following.

Indiana Candle Supplies-so far haven't got one from them that hasn't been good and strong.

Natures Garden-most have been good with a few duds

Cajun-have only ordered a few from them but so far only one that I didn't like

The Candle Makers Store would be next. I like everything I've ordered from them so far, just haven't put that many in wax yet.

I've ordered a lot of oils from Just Scent and love several of them that I have but have had several duds too.

Right now I'm waiting on an order from Daystar and Candlewic

I've ordered several from Fragrance Buddy and they have been a hit and a miss too. They have free shipping with a $50 order and I like that.

  3. Thank you for all the suggestions! I can't wait to get my order from Stacy. I found out today that her son goes to the school where I work and she will deliver my oils to me from now on! I'm so excited to have a place that has a good reputation and I don't have to pay shipping.

Thanks again! All suggestions are appreciated!

  4. I ordered a couple of FO's from DayStar last week and when I got the invoice yesterday I couldn't believe their location. They are in Coldspring Texas, just right up the road from where I live! When I saw the name Stacy on the invoice I also realized I know some of her family members but not her personally. I'm so excited to be this close to a place that sells good oils. Well at least from what I have read on here they seem to be good ones.

Since she's so close I can go pick them up without paying shipping so I will probably be ordering again. Are there any must haves from her?

    Thanks!

  5. Any suggestions on what I could call Mrs. Claus Cookies? I personally don't think it's just a Christmas scent but I don't know if anyone would want to buy it this time of year with that name and I love it so much I want to offer it all year.

I was thinking of something like Vanilla Sugar Cookie or something like that but am open for better suggestions!

    Thanks!

  6. Thanks Dave!

I always enjoy reading your posts and learning from you and everyone else on here. I just started making tarts last September and wished I had found this forum before buying from certain companies or certain fragrance oils. I've become addicted to buying them like a lot of people! :o)

I guess I'll stay clear of Candle Chem for FO's unless like you said I just need a small amount of something. I have actually bought four from them over the months.

    I have

orange cupcake (I love it but it seems light to me)

oatmeal raisin cookie which smells okay but nothing to ever make me want to buy it again,

cozy christmas, which smells good but haven't used it

and then I bought a bottle of cherry cobbler off of their ebay store and it smells good OOB so I thought I would try a few more. I went to their website and they have a lot of oils to choose from and but I wanted to see what people on here thought before I took a chance to use anymore of their stuff.

Thank you again for taking the time to give me your experience with them. I really appreciate it!

  7. Hi, I'm new to making candles (in fact I've only made one so far!) but I've been making tarts since about last September. I want to pour some candles also and have a question about wicks. I don't really know much about which one to use. I have 6006 wax and was wanting to pour into 8oz and 16oz mason jars and tin cans and decorate with a label and homespun. Which wick would you all recommend? I have read the phrase "wicker upper" and "wick up" and I have no idea what that means.

Thanks to everyone for their input! I've been reading posts on this board for weeks and have gained so much from everyone's knowledge! I also enjoy reading your posts!

    Thanks again,

    Belinda
